HAL's production means only one thing and that is IAF have decided to stick with it. Does not mean that the challenges associated with it become less because you assemble 1500 engines.
You say as if your opinion matters that much...
What you have stated has been stated 1001 times in 1001 different ways.. by a multitude of overzealous fanboys and real internet warriors.
If not for many that are in the circles that be knowing pshamim.. what stops you from questioning his credibility?
which brings in the not so attractive idea that the only reason he is credible(which he is) to you .. is because he has posted something which in used to back up the ridiculous claims of the MKI being invincible.
See, I am not aware that the MKI's engine life is negatively affected by TVC. You may be right, I hope that you will share your information with us.
Therefore, if TVC reduces the life of the engine while saving wear and tear on the airframe, it can only be a good move, no?
Sir whats the comparison between Sukhoi 30 and J-11 if they are equal than why doesnt but J-11 keep in mind i know about our economy
shinigami what i have understood from your point is that J-11 is equal to SU-30 so INSHALLAH whe our economy gets better we can get them if our Airforce also proves it atleast we do expect China that it will refuse us selling weaponsfirst there was soviet su27. the chinese copy of su27 is j-11. the russians upgrade the su27 and then call it su30. its easy really

Can somebody explain more on how TVC reduces the life of an engine? As MK said its obvious to explain the stress on the air-frame but saying TVC reduces life of an engine is strange. I would counter-argue that TVC helps in reducing operating temperatures for a given power setting and thus extends engine life.

There isn't a single document that explicitly relates TVC with the engine life degradation...The TVC is directly linked to the engine. Here you have a part that violently turns very hot gasses to change flight direction. Just imagine the impact of those forces on the engine. Just imagine the flow characteristics around and through the engine. And jut imagine the stresses caused by TVC. I think you can imagine that, can't you?

The answer is no; the TVC doesnt in any way reduces engine life!! The arguments that it produce stresses & all the moving parts playing havoc...isnt right.
TVC engines are specialised to suffer such loads & dynamic movements without degradation. If the arguments mentioned before are regraded true then I believe Piston engines are more reliable than Jet engines...
...& by the way have someone though why TVC engines are relatively expensive; simply because quality comes with price

Good point!! There is nothing like TVC equipped engine; this statement is vague. Statement must be TVC engine...no previous engine is UPGRADED by adding TVC to it; its wrong concept rather TVC engine is built from a different design & has a new layout...its not like RADARs which you pick old out & place the new one. TVC engines also require some changes to airframe as wellIf TVC is considered as part of engine. It reduces.
reliable upto a limit...a maximum limit already has been displayed by Russians in TU-95 ( you can't ask for more than that ); after that jets/...& others are reliablePiston engines are more reliable than jet engines........
linguistics...and so would a $50 pack of juice be less in quality than a $100 bottle of wine of the same quantity????
