Chairman of Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Regional Standing Committee for Peace, Khawaja Khawar Rasheed Tuesday welcomed negotiations on Pak-Iran Free Trade Agreement and said that the agreement would lead both the countries to prosperity and development.
Talking to APP, he said that the recent volume of trade between the two countries was now only $27 million, while with this FTA, it could be increased to $5 billion during the next five years. Khawar said that according to the Preferential Trade Agreement, Pakistan had given Iran discount on 338 items and Iran gave the same facility for 309 items. However, under the Free Trade Agreement, both the countries would provide discount on the duties of more than 80% products.—APP

I think the Indian insurgents / agents in Iran is a sticking point , however certainly makes sense to grow trade with regional countries

How does Iran universities compare to Pakistan?

The FTA can help with people movement too.

Everything to do with Iran is all hypotheticals ... nothing ever comes out of it.

Pak-Iran FTA to be signed after resumption of banking channels

Pakistan-Iran Free Trade Agreement (FTA) would be signed between the two countries after State Bank of Pakistan and Central Bank of Iran resume banking channels.
Joint Ministerial level meeting between Pakistan and Iran would be held in Tehran in first week of May 2017, for negotiation on bilateral trade and FTA between the two countries, a senior official of Ministry of Commerce told APP on Tuesday. “We are very much looking forward to progress on the bilateral trade and enhance export to Iran,” he said. Talking about FTA with China, he said its second phase was also due.
However, Pakistan was desirous to have duty relaxation on 50 products before launching the Phase-II, he added. “We demanded unilateral relaxation on 50 different products for few years before signing Phase-II of FTA,” the official said. Replying to question, he said Pakistan wanted relaxation on these products to protect the local market and ensure competitiveness.—APP

$5 billion trade yearly.
Yes, hopefully. Iran is not our enemy. It definitely is Saudi and GCC's enemy but not ours and this enmity is reciprocated, and I think its interests based conflict not ideological. We gain a lot by having relations with both, I love this quote by Assad Durrani "We have to keep so many balls in the air". Always have as many options (relations) as you can. We will choose the best one when the time comes.

Pakistan can act as Balance Between KSA and Ira
If pakistan improves its relations with iran increase trade , social links ans becomes huge partner while Having a strong relationship with Arabs it can bring these two together or atleast stop them from destroying each other

This agreement will help Balochistan a lot the trade route to Iran will benefit the province. CPEC and FTA will bring a lot of funds to Balochistan and Iran will also benefit from CPEC due to FTA.
