ISLAMABAD: In the backdrop of the Uri terrorist attack, Pakistan and Indian Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) established hotline contact on Sunday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated.

The hotline contact was made following an Indian request to discuss the latest situation along the Line of Control (LoC).Refuting unfounded and premature Indian allegation, the Pakistani DGMO asked his counterpart to share any actionable intelligence.

He reiterated that no infiltration was allowed from the Pakistani soil because watertight arrangements were in place on both sides of the LoC and the Working Boundary. The Foreign Office also categorically rejected the Indian allegations of involvement in the attack on Indian security forces in Indian occupied Kashmir’s Uri area.

Talking to the state-run TV, the Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria said that the Indian government never furnished evidence to substantiate their claims and rather continuously blamed Pakistan even without carrying out an independent investigation into any incident.

He said the Indian involvement in terror financing in Pakistan has been exposed by the Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadev arrested in Pakistan, revealing that India had been financing terrorist activities in Balochistan, Karachi and other areas.

The FO spokesman also recalled the statement of former American defence secretary Chuck Hegel that India had been financing instability in Pakistan from Afghanistan. To a comment about the Indian media’s biased reporting, the spokesman said the Indian media acted as a mouthpiece of the Indian government, always toeing the official line. He said Pakistan had taken up the issue of Indian atrocities in IHK at the highest level, including the United Nations and OIC.

Nafees Zakaria said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has written letters to secretary generals of the UN and OIC. He said the OIC Human Rights Commission had condemned the Indian brutalities in IHK and the UNHRC had asked for sending a fact-finding commission to the region that was rejected by India.

The spokesman said the whole world was focused at Indian atrocities against innocent Kashmiris but India was striving to conceal the facts. He said Pakistan had submitted three dossiers with the UN, furnishing evidences of terror financing by India in Pakistan. He said the threads of Indian efforts to destabilise Pakistan go to 1947 and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had admitted the Indian role in the 1971 break-up of Pakistan. He said besides the UN General Assembly, the Kashmir issue would also be raised forcefully on the sidelines, including the OIC ministerial meeting, OIC Contact Group and many bilateral meetings of the prime minister, foreign adviser and foreign secretary.

The spokesman said the Indian media should report balanced stories and added that the Pakistani media had played a positive role to highlight the Indian brutalities in IHK. He said the Foreign Office had been organising multiple activities to highlight the Kashmir issue by engaging the civil society.

The spokesman reiterated that Pakistan would continue extending diplomatic, political and moral support to the people of Kashmir until they are given their right to self-determination as provided by the UN Security Council resolutions.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said if Kashmiris have reacted to Indian atrocities, then it is inappropriate to level allegations against Pakistan. He said Pakistan will continue moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris, adding that India should acknowledge the reality and resolve the Kashmir dispute according to the UN resolutions.

In an interview with a private TV channel, Khawaja Asif said Indian forces were sowing a crop of torture and violence and will reap the same. He said the Kashmiris were fighting for freedom, which was their basic right.

He said Kashmiris were sacrificing their lives for their rights, adding that a fire had been lit by the Indian forces in the whole Kashmir Valley. He said over 90 Kashmiri youths had been martyred and hundreds blinded by the pellet guns since the beginning of indigenous protests and demonstrations for freedom. The minister said India was ignoring the facts about Kashmir. He said Pakistan was not interfering in Kashmir, adding that the border and Working Boundary were fully fenced.
