Please don't try to fool me... I was talking with a Kashmiri Pandit named Robin Zutshi on facebook and here is his reply.. in unabridged form...

"there is a great divide between the south indians and nothern, while the former are called madrasis by the latters, the latters are called punjabis. the noth indian people think south indian people are dirty and smelly wearign dhoti and lungi. the southies think punjabis are rowdy and unethical"

Don't always try to portray that everything is good in India and everything is bad in Pakistan... However, I have to give credit to those Indians who are honest and blunt... and don't try to portray that everything is perfect in India.

I don know what he faced in India. I am a north Indian, living in south Indian for more than 10 years, I have not faced any this as such. Yes to make fun we do such things, but no one is serious about such stupid divide. Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Andhra pradesh is well known for there engineering colleges, The kids come here to study and get eloped with other kids.

and WHO told u that ethnic friction is a serious issue in Pakistan? Muhajirs call Punhabis as taggey (donkeys) and we call them different names too.. but it is all a light hearted banter.. no one is serious... but I can tell u one thing.. when it comes to India.. every ethnicity of Pakistan unites.. at that time no one thinks who is Punjabi, or who is Urdu speaker... ;.)

why would they be discriminated against.. when 98% Indians are dark.. I mean when ur grandfather sister escaped from East Pakistan and settled in India.. no one could tell that she is from a different place.. she would have gelled with Indians.. but not the case with people who displaced from [West] Pakistan and moved to India and vice versa..

Stop beating around bush, no matter what was the reason, the truth is we never discriminate refugees. Be it dark skin or light skin. We allowed Jews, Persian, African to settle in India and never discriminated them.

Coming to topic: I don't hate Pakistan or Muslims, But I strongly feel that Hindus should be born citizen of India. (Like Jews are citizen of Israel by birth). If you like this model, you can ask ur govt to make such rule..

Even that we stand united , How many time u heard Muslim women kidnap and converted into Hindu? Now the POint is you have failed to Protect Minorities , this is not state problem it is world wide problem,

Every Country where Muslim Population live with other religion , If they are in Majority : they prosecute Minority (With terriorist) and if they in minority they make trouble with majority religion (with terrorist activity) .... Bosnia , Sudan, Russia, China, kashmir, UK example are their.

Then u have been fed by Indian propaganda.. Do you know that Urdu speakers (i.e. Mohajirs or Indian Muslims) are the elites of Pakistan? They only make 8% of Pakistani population and every ethnicity of Pakistan feels kinda oppressed by them... [even Punjabis to certain extent] The languages of other ethnicities of Pakistan don't have any official status, but Urdu is the official language.. just to please them.. what else u want us to do? I think we accommodated them well... Many Indian Muslims who came from India claimed large properties and are living prosperously... Stop watching Bollywood propaganda movies where they show Indian Muslims or Muhajirs r oppressed in Pakistan.. they are not oppressed.. groups like Balochis and Sindhis are opressed

I would say it is more of a law and order issue than anything else.
Minorities are targetted everywhere in south asia(take peaceful buddist lankans for example), you need strong law for stopping that.

Indian citizen may be communal but our laws are secular, and there is strong secular tradition in our political system.
Tragedy in pakistan is you dont have anywhere to go, because the law itself will not help you.

@ all the Pakistanis here if you have any decency left inside you don't comment on Gujrat riots or any such event here.We have seen what kind of Freedom of religion you guys give to your minorities.
