Spotted AW109 Test a/c inbound for Rahwali AB,Gujranwala...is it under trials by the army?
P.s Only one AW109 is in service in Pakistan,by Bahria Town

so the question of "is pakistan testing the aw109?" well the answer to that is yes
quiet a coincidence as pakistan is testing russain choppers too and have a good number of hueys that need to be phased out.

AW 139 is a the ideal replacement, Ansat might be better Light Transport option
Mi-17 however is still a beast in the transport category

Huey Classic

• Crew: 1–4
• Capacity: including 14 troops, or 6 stretchers, or equivalent cargo

Seems like it is a good replacement for Bell Huey

• Crew: 1–2
• Capacity: **7–8 passengers (50% that of Bell HUEY)
  • 2 stretchers and 3 attendants
  • Internally 1,234 kg (2,721 lb)

The dimensions are smaller would make difference on number of people it carries but

AW109 (50% Capacity that of HUEY)

• Crew: 1 or 2
• Capacity: 6 or 7 passengers

Mi-17 (Classic Russian Troop Transport)

• Crew: Three: two pilots and one engineer
• Capacity: 24 troops or 12 stretchers or 4,000 kg (8,820 lb) cargo internally /5,000 kg (11,023 lb) externally slung.

Mi-17 / Ansat / AW139
Fleet would make a more robust Aviation Fleet , HUEY would be still Ok for Short Term perhaps limited role down the road
