Pak Army Chief Witnesses Induction of VT-4 Tanks into Strike Formations

Are we just importing them or we can make them in house through tot?

We are not making VT-4 locally, it’s being bought directly from China. We are making AK-1 along side it locally, Some ToT has been acquired to use Tech from VT-4 in AK-2, maybe more will be acquired, or other options will be considered, but the future plan for the AK is to bring it closer to VT-4.

This tank is a beast. We have around 1000 older tanks we need to replace. Pakistan army should buy around 500 VT-4s.

VT4 is done and dusted. Next challenge is to churn out AK2 which can compete with VT4. Imagine Alkhalid 2 with APS hope our engineers can do it this time.
VT-4 is only getting started, there are a lot more to come. It will be replacing all the Type 59s and 69s. That’s nearly 600 tanks.

The next iteration of AK is to start production After AK-1 deliveries are done in around 2 years. We have a rough idea of what we’re expecting to see on it, not sure if it will be called the AK-2 yet. However for an APS, we cannot make one. Our best bet is to purchase them from China (and I believe we will, but only after all the older tanks are retired and PAs fleet has reached a size at which they want to stop). Those are expensive but very effective upgrades.
Check the Al-Khalid and VT-4 threads for more info :)

By no means i am saying VT4 induction is ending. We have known it for a while that Pak Army wants a tank to supplement AK2. I was merely saying this acquisition is now known so let move to the other part which is Alkhalid 2.

I think at least 2 other APS are being tested. Another Chinese design and a Ukrainian one. Turks are also in process of making one as well. It would be intreating to see which one they choose. Alkhalid in essence will be nothing like its previous blocks. It will be a new tank and you are right that name might be different.

How good the Al-Khalid 2 is depends on how good the army wants it to be, I think as of now, they want the next iteration of the Al-Khalid to bring it closer to the VT-4, instead of making some sort of next generation tank, this means it’ll be in production a lot sooner (and this goes along with the words of the HIT chairman). So we will be seeing some technologies that are missing in AK-1 (but present in VT-4) be added.

However I would not expect any sort of major redesign yet. But we will see where it goes. The AK-1 is already a very potent machine, If we can make AK-2 comparable to the VT-4 in most metrics, then we have a very powerful local tank already.

Nice war tu

Nice war thunder set up jk . Anyways its good that we can give our knights in composite armor modern training.
I thought it was world of tanks at first, had to look closer, the UI and colors are similar but it’s thankfully not that. That being said, recently the South Korean army was using War Thunder to train its tankers, not sure how I feel about that one xD.
