PAF, US Air Force to co- host int'l coalition moot on aviation safety
Monday February 19, 2007

ISLAMABAD: The 3rd International Coalition Conference on Aviation Safety is being held here from February 20-22.
The third conference is being co-hosted by the Pakistan Air Force and United States Air Force at Air Headquarters, Islamabad.

Air Power has emerged as the most potent and rapid means of projecting national muscle. In order to maintain a viable edge in wartime it is imperative that an air force preserves its war fighting potential in peace time. High operating costs coupled with stringent training standards demand dedicated efforts in safety of our personnel and equipment. The civil aviation also faces similar challenges. Peacetime inherent risk of accidents and huge financial outlay is the major challenge faced by the Aviation industry. Air Safety is the biggest peace time challenge.

The Conference endeavors to investigate and highlight contemporary issues in Aviation Safety, while disseminating it to the specialized professionals around the world. This would help foster already cordial ties between the countries, apart from enhancement of new avenues for cooperation and development. Delegates from 12 countries spanning 4 continents shall be participating in the Conference representing various Air Forces and Airlines. The Conference shall be inclusive of lectures, seminars and group discussions, convened by Air Forces of Pakistan, United States and Australia.

It is hoped that the exchange of ideas and experiences at the conference shall prove to be a significant step forward in the safety programme of all its members.
