Oversea territories are distant territories thousand miles away not just any island. Otherwise Greece would be world record holder.

Not necessarily far. Hong Kong island is an overseas territory of China and it's right off the coast.

Good point. Look at Ukraine. Hundreds of thousands of volunteer battalions fighters. No country can beat that. China can easily summon millions of volunteer battalions fighters if the US invades China. The US therefore cannot conquer China.
