Over 30 training camps in Afghanistan fuelling Balochistan unrest: IG FC

QUETTA: The chief of the paramilitary troops in Balochistan has claimed that millions of rupees were being spent to spread a state of unrest in the insurgency-hit province, DawnNews reported.

Speaking to media representatives at the FC headquarters here on Saturday, Inspector General Frontier Corps Balochistan Major General Obaidullah Khan Khattak said on Saturday that over 30 militant training camps had been set up across the border in Afghanistan to launch terrorist and anti-state activities in Balochistan.

Maj Gen Khattak also claimed that around 121 insurgent training facilities were operating in different parts of the province.

Teachers, doctors and many civilians have fallen prey to target killings, said Khattak adding that over 100,000 people had migrated from the province due to its law and order situation.

About 550 incidents of terrorism have taken place in the province so far this year, out of which several groups have claimed responsibilities of 258 such incidents, he informed the media.

The future of the country is in Balochistan, said Khattak, alleging that foreign powers had their eyes set on the province for the same reason. Moreover, a well-planned conspiracy had been hatched for a propaganda campaign against the FC and intelligence agencies, he added.

The Frontier Corps had recently come under much criticism over its alleged role in forced disappearances and human rights violations in Balochistan. The Supreme Court is also hearing a case on the province’s law and order situation.

The IG FC’s comments come after a hearing on Friday in which a bench of apex court judges, headed by the chief justice, assailed the FC and described the recent killing of three people whose whereabouts were being sought by the court as a chilling reminder to it.

“We are aware that lives of law enforcement personnel were also being lost, however that does not empower anyone to take the law into their own hands,” one of the judges had remarked during the hearing.

Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest province by area, has been the centre of a violent insurgency by nationalist activists and militant groups.

On Tuesday, a high-level meeting attended by the prime minister, army chief Kayani, ISI head DG-ISI Lt Gen Zaheerul Islam, and Balochistan Chief Minister Raisani had decided to initiate dialogue with the Baloch leadership and discontented nationalist parties in the province.

I think it is high-time that people like Brahamdagh Bugti and Harbyar Marri and made quite. Yesterday Bugti gave a interview on radio that he has only one thing on his mind, and that is independence. And they will fight for it. There are also pashtuns in Balochistan, but they never say anything like this. These 3 or so tribes are really making a serious case against themselves.

whole world knows how US/NATO generally remove whole families of Taliban fighters, while dropping bombs by killer drones in Afghan's residential areas. then here, how these terrorist camps may run without permission of CIA's drones? while whole world knows how they are killing women and kids of Afghanistan?

also, what about their promise to leave Afghan by 2014, and how we may trust in them anymore that they will ever leave that region if they are even training Baloch terrorists there also to create unrest in Baluchistan to make separatists movement in that state....:blah:

i used to respect Baloch as i used to find them nationalists, they only have to think that they are nationalists of Pakistan not Baluchistan. but now these Baluch nationalists are being proved to be 'pet dogs' of US/West, who might have committed slavery of free Baluchistan to US/West for next 20-30 years, who knows? but world can't see these terrorist activities continue as it is and we won't let Baluchistan become a 'terrorist camp' of whole world which will then create a very big problem for whole world in future. we wont let this type of strategically important state go on the hands of rogue US who may them turn this whole state into a big head ache for whole world one day :pop:

How does it feels if terrorist camps are running in neighbouring countries produces militants who kill our innocent citizens? Life is full of irony. :undecided:

Govt. of Pakistan is fully involved, incl. CJ.
Otherwise there is no logic in not contacting interpole for the bastard Brahmdagh Bugti.

Pakistan rangers have even recovered SAMs from those bastards and we are waiting for a peace full elections.

Indian consulates on Pakistan borders are fully involved.
It is also not believable that ISAF doesn't know about the terror training camps.

We are a soft, passive and always apologist sorry state. I hope this attitude doesn't hurt us in the future.

Even Indians think the same about their state vis a vis training camps in P.O. K. Its amazing to know how we both nations think likewise or may be its just a coincidence ? ;)

So Pakistan can make these claims and feel aggrieved but when India makes claims regarding terror camps in Paksitan aimed at India we have to hear all the abuse. I'll say what is always said by Pakistani members- where is the proof?? I want concert, undeniable, irrefutable proof.

Those camps are to help the Kashmiris get self defence for thier family from Indian soldier rape, they are only fighting your army. The ones your country is supporting are killing innocent Shias and non-Baloch residents of Balochistan.

There is none.. And this is not the official statement from Pak.. Just a random rant from a Police Officer who is probably overwhelmed with all the stuff going around him

Its all propaganda.

look, there are many corrupts in Indian diplomacy also but if something happens in US's Ruled Afghan, like running terrorist camps of those militants who are good for US/West, the Baloch, then it simply means you gotto identify the problem and find its solution. otherwise, suppose you are involved on the eastern border and CIA's backed 40,000 trained Baloch militants have occupied one of the city of Baluchistan????????

just ready yourself for the main man, US, you have to deal with. US would simply leave Afghan as we dont want killing of women and kids of that part of world any more...................

the the number of terrorist camps funded by the Western governments in that region is much more than as stated. the total comes over 150 as below:

Quetta: As many as 151 militant training camps—121 in Balochistan and 30 in Afghanistan—were in action to escalate the ongoing unrest in Balochistan, Inspector-General Frontier Corps Major General Ubaidullah Khan Khattak claimed.

Harbiyar Marri, Brahamdag Bugti, Allah Nazar and Javed Mengal are operating the camps, he said while speaking to a news conference in Quetta. He added government could root out these camps if it tried hard.

I know when India talks about terror camps in AJK they say it is all lies, times to get the same response. I want you to understand how difficult it is to prove these things. Look at things from other sides perspective.

I think, Documented proofs must be provided to Afghan central Gov. first!! To verify this claim.
