About 2,206 Sikh pilgrims arrived in Lahore from India today to participate in the annual celebrations of Baisakhi festival to be held on Sunday at Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Hassan Abdal.

Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Tahir Ehsan, Secretary Board Tariq Wazir, Pardhan Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Sardar Tara Singh, local Sikh leaders and board officials received them warmly.

According to spokesman of Evacuee Trust Property Board the main ceremony of Baisakhi festival called Bhog Akhand Paath Sahib will be held at Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Hassan Abdal on April 14.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noor ul Haq Qadri and Chairman ETPB Tahir Ehsan will be chief guests on this occasion.

Three day festivities of Baisakhi festival concluded at Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal today [Sunday].

Addressing the concluding ceremony titled "Bhog Akhand Paath Sahib" at the Gurdwara, Prime Minister's Advisor on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said the PTI government is considering minorities of the country as equal citizens and provides them equal rights.He said Prime Minister Imran Khan sent the message of love for Sikh community across the world by announcing opening of Kartarpur corridor.

Speaking on the occasion Parliamentary Secretary for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Aftab Jahangir invited Sikh community from all parts of the world to invest in Pakistan and explore beautiful tourist attractions in the country. Addressing the ceremony, Parliamentary Secretary Punjab Sardar Mahinder Pal Singh said Prime Minister Imran Khan won hearts of the Sikhs living across the world by taking the initiative of opening Kartarpur corridor.

He said the PTI government believes in complete freedom of minorities and the steps taken by it to this effect are unprecedented.

MPA Punjab Assembly Syed Yawar Bukhari said the construction work on Kartarpur corridor is being completed speedily to complete it before 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak in November this year.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Pakistan Parbandhak Committee Sardar Tarar Singh said Pakistan's decision of opening Kartarpur corridor is a gesture of peace.

He said over fifty percent work on the corridor has been completed. He regretted that India is not seriously pursuing the Kartarpur corridor project.

He urged the Sikh Yatrees to inform the people in India about the treatment of leave and peace they receive in Pakistan.

On the occasion, Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board Tahir Ahsan highlighted the facilities being provided to Sikh Yatrees visiting their sacred places in Pakistan, including Gurdwara Panja Sahib.

Representatives of various Sikh community organizations in different countries also lauded Pakistan government's decision of opening Kartarpur corridor and thanked the incumbent government for fulfilling their long standing demand.

They included Sardar Autar Singh Sanghera from the United Kingdom, Sardar Harvinder Singh Khalsa,Sardar Diljeet Singh from India and Sardar J. V. Singh from the United Kingdom.

According to Spokesperson Evacuee Trust Board Amir Hashmi, about ten thousand Sikh Yatrees from Pakistan, India, and other countries attended the festival. He said over 2,000 Yatrees arrived from India.

Security forces had made foolproof security arrangements to ensure law and order on the occasion.

But many of Sikh also perished and that was whipped up by the British. Look how they caused Palestine crisis. Now Palestine be they Christian or Muslim have suffered, it is the same for Sikh and Muslim in 1947 because both made victims by British tricks.

The British/West are not a threat to Pakistan. indians/sikhs are an existential threat to Pakistan.

But the Muslims cannot be everyone’s enemy all the time. You can appreciate the differences doesn’t make them threats. The Hindu extremist pose a threat and Sikhs do not. In fact they are likely to be rolled over by the Hindutva types too.

I see the same thing with Jewish people. Muslim must differentiate between Jewish people individually and not confuse with Israeli state actions.
