For some reason I find no outrage here. If anything, Obama's Indonesian roots which emphasize respect for elders are on display. A little bow of respect here will go a long way in solidifying American-Japanese relations. Only if right wing conservative idiots like William Kristol understood that.

I believe that it is a wonderful gesture of friendship and compassion by the new american president---it will change the negative image of George Bush's america to the positive image of Barack Obama's america.

This man has the courage to send his emissaries to Myanmar and other unwanted places---" JAW JAW IS BETTER THAN WAR WAR ".

Mr. Obama is a humble man. I love that.

Americans, generally un-educated or under-educated Americans, are extremely arrogant. While American elites believe this country has big problems that need to be fixed, or the country will be caught up by others, the semi-illiterate think it is perfect and couldn’t be better.

For the same mentality, the semi-illiterates believe America is invincible because of its military power.

Let me tell the foolish that humbleness brings in friends, arrogance invites enemy. Soviet was once the strongest in military.

The only controversy I see here is that, Japanese Emperor system is a war crime system. It should be abolished, not to be bowed to.
