Outrage after Chinese theme park forces pig to bungee jump

Once again this is due to heredity.

These behaviours only shows that for too long these people have been left without any moral guidance, that is at least from the 13th century when they lost their independence as a civilization, ruled by an unbroken chain of foreign barbaric Mongolian then Manchurian then European colonial invaders.

Go to Siam and see how street dogs are treated. Buddha's compassion has left these colonial offsprings.

Not long ago, during the civil war in the 1930s, before the CCP's victory, it is known that peasants used to ate 馒头 soaked in the blood of beheaded prisoners after public executions, deemed nutritious. It doesn't only happens in Syria.

What is worse?

Vietnam Festival: Live Pig Chopped In Half To Honor Village Deity (WARNING: GRAPHIC)

02/02/2012 12:03 pm ET

Each year, on the sixth day of the lunar new year, the villagers of a town about 25 miles north of Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi, organize a festival to honor their local guardian deity, Doan Thuong. The celebrations include traditional festival features such as a march and live music, but one part of the ceremony is not for the faint of heart.

According to Reuters, a live pig is shuttled around the village before being placed on the ground on its back. Assistants hold ropes attached to the pig’s legs, spreading the animal’s appendages apart to expose its belly. A man wielding a large blade then chops the pig in half, and the villagers rush to smear the blood on bank notes, hoping for good luck in the new year.

The practice has been condemned by activists inside Vietnam and abroad.

For more photos of the festival, check out ChinaSMACK.

To be honest, animal cruelty is widespread in developing countries, especially throughout Asia and Africa. The only way forward is strong laws regarding the ethical treatment of animals, development and education. Unfortunately even as a country progresses, a lot of these backward ideas still exist. The more rural a population is, the worst they treat animals as well because they are seen as a commodity and not as living beings.

Even in the US, a lot of rednecks have no morals regarding the killing of animals.

The difference is that the US has laws governing the cruel treatment of animals and thus people like this will be punished and it deters others from doing the same.

Again it has nothing to do with progress. Not with GDP. Not even with education.

It has to do with moral value. Cultural (religious implied).

Siam was cited above: because true Buddhist can't behave the way Christians do. As animal lives are equal to humans.

It has nothing to do with the economic level.

It would be unimaginable to see dogs or monkeys appropriating the public space, like they do in Burma, in what you call "advanced" western nations.

Indeed, the european civilization only trust the rule of force. What is weak can be treated as simple commodity. What is stronger is treated as one's master.

And this results in the weakest being exploited as guinea pigs in the european laboratories.

Not surprized that in europe, during wartime, defeated enemy human populations also naturally end up in labs as well.

Law has nothing to do here. Because it is precisely the law that orders the inferior humans to be vivisected, to serve the master race.

Both Capitalism and Communism are bad for the world....which is why we have Islam.

Either way, out of the above two C's....we all know which anyone would choose if given the right to choose. Heck, even Chinese have incorporated many capitalistic ideas into their government.

To further drive my point home....how many Muslims travel to China or Russia for work?? How many travel to the West, US & Australia/NZ for a better life/work/stability? ;)

Both of us also reside in the US also and have the right to speak up against what it does!

Would you be able to speak up if you lived in China!? :D

Most Muslims don't have issues in China. The issue is Uyghur separatism and that's the primary reason why the Uyghurs practice of Islam is being clamped down on.

There are plenty of other Muslim ethnic groups and foreign Muslim communities in China and they are generally left alone for the most part. Just facts.

This city of Yiwu actually built a mosque to attract for Muslim immigrants who came within the last ten years because the city became a huge wholesale trading center.

Ahmadiyah say hello to you.
They lived Happy and peacefull life :woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:

Most do. I won't say all because I fully recognize the persecution they have been under. But then again....their wives aren't being raped, neither are their husbands being sent to "reeducation camps" & their organs aren't being harvested. :D

True.

And why would they need to separate from China in the first place??

Do you know that Xinjiang used to be independent for much of its history?? Do you know what previous and current CCP regimes have done to the Uyghurs?

That's because they're "sinicized"....just like Mongols before them....so obviously, they aren't a threat to CCP.

I have done my research buddy. ;)

Again, that's fine and I appreciate the Chinese gesture of goodwill. :enjoy:

But Yiwu is located in Zhejiang province....we're talking about Xinjiang....where all the main concerns lie.

Yeah I get why some Uyghurs want independence, they are very ethnically different from the Han and for most of their history they weren't directly administered as a part of China, so obviously there will be separatist feelings. But my point is that China isn't really anti-Muslim, they are anti-separatist. Their government also clamps down on Tibetan Buddhism and the Falungong because they pose a challenge to the government.

Honestly, what major country doesn't have a separatist movement? Pakistan has Balochistan. Turkey has Kurdistan. Also, the Turks throughout history have largely been a very aggressive bunch of assholes that's why I don't really care that much about their whining about the Uyghurs even though I can see why some Uyghurs want independence.I mean the fact that up to ten years ago many Uyghurs couldn't even speak Mandarin shows how little China really forcefully assimilated them. Compared to how most Native Americans barely exist nowadays and are sad remnants in their caged reservations, it's night and day frankly. That's why I feel like Western criticism of China is hypocritical as hell, what the West has done to their natives is 100000x worse to be honest.

Lastly, yeah, most immigration trends towards Western countries and there is a major reason for that. European countries have largely dominated and created the modern world, their countries were the metropoles, so obviously a lot of immigration comes from former colonies to the former metropoles. China was a rag tag Communist shithole until about 20 years ago and is still emerging and opening up. I'm actually surprised at the large numbers of foreign students and even foreign residents that live in China now to be quite frank.

I don't see any problems with having a discussion. I'm honestly one of the biggest critics of modern Chinese culture, but at the same time, I am a huge critic of Western criticism about China which is largely politically driven, has zero moral integrity or honesty, and is full of propaganda. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks.

Also accepting immigrants is just not part of east Asian culture, Japan and south Korea got developed much earlier and how many foreign immigrants have they accepted, especially those not from other east Asian countries.
