Outrage after Chinese theme park forces pig to bungee jump

Also accepting immigrants is just not part of east Asian culture, Japan and south Korea got developed much earlier and how many foreign immigrants have they accepted?

Well, China is more accepting than Japan and Korea since China is far more heterogeneous. Japan and Korea are some of the most racially homogeneous countries on earth. China has had far more foreign influences and population influxes in its history.

But anyways, my point also is that the reason why countries like the USA, Canada, Australia have huge immigrant populations is because they are conquered territories where the natives were wiped out and modern populations built on immigration in order to establish a new society. So the entire societal structure is built on immigration. To compare these societies with East Asian countries is to completely ignore historical reality.

So much for "being neutral"....bow down to your Chinese overlord and start packing for your next trip to China. They'll be serving pork to you soon.
Its our mind to eat or not in USA people eating pork can we eat it this pork it up to you that you eat it or not some Muslims concern that they will not eats pork some Muslims doesn't care

You should be asking that question to the US govt......I'm not a representative of the US govt....

If you hate the US so much and love the Chinese so much...why don't you move to China?
I talking about fact which govt bring more damage Muslim countries throughout the world most tell me you're not looking at the bigger pictures and Chinese doing within their own countries who is hell US government concern about uyghir Muslims and not looking not other main issues of Muslims like Kashmir and Chechen where Muslims are in worst conditions than China, isn't this is double standard by US government and stop anti China rants here blaming of China is easy job for USA and they are bigger killers of Muslims than China

.
China has more human rights than most countries, in forms of standard of living, healthcare, education, public service, safety and low crime rate... human rights don't only mean the right to argue and whine about staged politics with an empty stomach.

Sir G, I believe China has not 'more' but very 'disciplined' human rights, and which are mandatory to control such huge population.
That discipline, one of the element which created the right atmosphere to elevate China, where it is today.

On topic, may be the pig trained to have the bungee ride as animals are trained to do in circus - even US forces have dogs in units of paratroopers. If 65 story bungee jumping is cruelty than what a para jump from thousands of fees?
Fail to understand, why every act of China is irritating USA and West, even they themselves criminals of humanity.
This is just a case of 'The pot calling the kettle black', nothing else; will recommend to lock the thread.

But it's indeed an act of animal abuse, as for circuses, they are condemned by the public in China, I don't know whether there are still circuses in China, I never saw one in Beijing, there used to be one in the Beijing zoo, but was shut down amist public condemnation over a decade ago.

Amazed, to read that China abandoned the circuses since long, which still exists in other parts of the wold.
So China is usually, step ahead of others.

Why isn’t there outrage among the Chinese people over this and the Yulin dog festival?

This is what Communism does to the people of a country. Complete disregard for human life and animal life. Apparently after they tortured this poor animal, they sent it to a slaughterhouse.

Does China have animal cruelty laws?

A Chinese theme park has triggered a wave of outrage on social media after it forced a pig to bungee jump off a 68-metre high tower.

Video footage shows the pig tied to a pole, carried by two men to the top of a tower before being pushed off.

The theme park located in Chongqing said the stunt was held to mark the opening of the new bungee attraction.

Local media outlets said the pig was sent to a slaughterhouse afterwards.

The stunt caused anger online - reflecting the growing importance of animal rights among China's population.

The theme park has since put out a statement, saying that it accepted the "criticism" it had received.

"We sincerely accept netizens' criticism and advice and apologise to the public," it said. "We will improve [our] marketing of the tourist site, to provide tourists with better services."

'Vulgar marketing tactic'
The incident took place on 18 January at the Meixin Red Wine Town theme park in the sprawling Chinese municipality of Chongqing in south-western China.

The publicity event - which organisers called the golden pig bungee jump - was held to celebrate the opening of the theme park's bungee attraction.

The pig, which according to local reports weighed 75kg (165 lbs), is seen being pushed off the tower with a purple cape tied around its shoulders. In one video of the incident, what sound like pig squeals can be heard.

What happens to the pig afterwards is not shown, though many local media reports say it was eventually sent to a slaughterhouse.

Animal cruelty is not punishable by law in China. However, there has been growing awareness of animal welfare issues in recent years.

Though a handful of people defended the incident on social media, saying it wasn't any different to "killing a pig for food", the majority of users condemned the company's actions.

"This is a super vulgar marketing tactic," said one commenter.

"Killing animals for consumption and treating them cruelly for entertainment are two different things," another said. "There is no need to torture them like this."

Animal protection organisation Peta condemned the incident, calling it "animal cruelty at its worst".

"Pigs experience pain and fear in the same ways that we do, and this disgusting PR stunt should be illegal," Jason Baker, Peta senior vice-president of international campaigns, told BBC News.

"The Chinese public's angry response should be a wake-up call to China's policy-makers to implement animal protection laws immediately."

‘forced to bungee jump , pushed off by two men then sent to the slaughter house afterwards’.. hahaha..!

You really don't know what you are talking about, it's one of the bigges public debate in China, both sides organize rallies and protests, they always clash.

I do agree and most northern Chinese believe the same that people from Guangdong and Guangxi eat too much strange food with are not accepted in north China, but they say it's part of their tradition for hundreds of years, and in Beijing we ridicule them saying people from two Guangs (Guangdong and Guangxi) eat everything which has 4 legs except chairs. we are abhorred by man of their diets.

People traveled to Yulin to protest dog eating

Both Capitalism and Communism are bad for the world....which is why we have Islam.

Either way, out of the above two C's....we all know which anyone would choose if given the right to choose. Heck, even Chinese have incorporated many capitalistic ideas into their government.

To further drive my point home....how many Muslims travel to China or Russia for work?? How many travel to the West, US & Australia/NZ for a better life/work/stability? ;)

Both of us also reside in the US also and have the right to speak up against what it does!

Would you be able to speak up if you lived in China!? :D
Both C are bad, then why don't you just stay in your own super duper dream land??? You are a joke as alway :rofl::rofl:

You can't even read & understand English dude...

Given a choice between a rock and hard place...ever heard of that expression??

While both C's are bad...one is better than the other....which is why Capitalism lives on and the Communism is all but eradicated. Even your CCP has brought in Capitalistic ideas and companies into China which lead to the boom you're facing. If not for the investments made by Western countries and your habit of stealing & copying IP....you would still be in Maoist era....starving your own people because of food shortage. :D
