Now I am not sure if I agree with you here. From the information that I have our one true real enemy in my opinion is Afghanistan. I mean they were the only country not to recognize us when be became independent. They were and are a hub for anyone who is planning anti-Pakistan activities. Zahir Shah I dont know mush about him but as far as I am concerned all Afghans dont like Pakistan, because they say that Pakistan is occupying Pushtun territory. They claim that the NWFP, parts of Baluchistan and Punjab are apart of Afghanistan. I personally have no sympathy for them, not even one bit.

true, but we must also remind them that pakistan has always been there for them. Afghan refugees sought shelter in pakistan, pakistan freed afghanistan from clutches of the brutal soviets, etc.

For example an older brother takes care of his brothers with sincerity, yet his younger siblings don't even bother thanking him, does the brother just leave them to fend for themselves? i'm proud of pakistan for helping muslim countries in need, that's what makes us different and so strong.

we must also remind them that every time afghanistan has been free, it falls under the control of tajiks. pashtuns flock to pakistan to join their brethern. For example, occupied afghanistan has always been under non-pashtun control.

This exactly my point. We have always been their for them and in return we have got nothing. We feed them, give them shelter. Roti, Kapra, Makaan was suppose to be given to us but we gave it to them. They have always tried to destablize Pakistan. I mean I am all for friendship but if they choose rivalary then that is what they should get. If we want to or wanted to we could of walked into Kabul and made slaves out of these Afghans but we offered them our friendship. They claim to have helped us in the 1948 war. They need to be reminded that it were the tribemen who helped us not any type of help from the Afghan government. The tribesmen were totally independent and they were never order by the Afghan govenrment to help us. 60 years later we must ask ourselves who are our friends and who are our enemies. And when it comes to Afghanistan they have done no good to us and all they have done is harm.

The Pushtun areas of Afghanistan are ruled by Taliban and these are the areas in which people have soft corner for Pakistan. To be realistic “Greater Afghanistan” is out of question but “Greater Pakistan” can happen.

Talibans are pro-Pakistan but they are mixing the tribal values with Islam and since these tribal traditions are not the part of culture in other parts of Pakistan hence there is a clash. So the best way to form Greater Pakistan is to support Taliban provided that they should change their mentality and mingle with the political stream.

i agree with the facts that mujahideen put up, afghanistan was calling out for help after the soviets left, claiming that pakistan was going to invade them any day now.

when there was a wide open chance, we could have invaded afghanistan, but we didn't. however, take a look at afghanistan. if we look into history, every time afghanistan is occupied, it is under tajik control. if it finally starts running independently, it is under tajik control. if it is under tajik control, the pashtunistan problem pops up and same with balochistan, and sindhudesh.

besides, using our pashtun population to sympathesize with the smaller pashtun population in afghanistan is ideal. after looking at afghanistan and pakistan, you tell me which land is more better for pashtuns? Pashtuns make a large chunk of the army, they practically run the isi, this country has had many pashtun rulers and some generals. if we can convince pashtuns in afghanistan, that would be awesome. a dream, but still awesome.

Road map and policy of GOP in this regard is needed.

merging afghanistan with pakistan is a more viable option than bangladesh. it would easily be absorbed, as for bangladesh, their culture is too different. this can fix our porblems of strategic depth and further motivate other muslim nations to re-establish caliphate.

it may sound impossible to some, but need i remind some that it always under difficult times muslims unite. when situations are pleasant the ummah always weakens, yet when we face difficulty, it strengthens us.

my thoughts are with Ali Rehmat, bangladesh should have been called banglaislam or whatever would have represented their identity, not east pakistan. I know there are plenty of bengalies who support pakistan, mainly among the religous. as soon as bangladesh was created, the generals took over who were at one time soldiers of pakistan army.

.
you're right greater pakistan is possible. merging with afghanistan would tie us closer with our central asian, persian, afghan, and arab roots. most of modern day pakistan was apart of afghanistan, even baluchistan and sindh.

pashtuns of afghanistan must be reminded of the blessings pashtuns of pakistan have had. it's a matter of convincing people, we don't have to annex territory, that would further wounds. pakistan housed afghanis during the soviet era and we still house them today. there is still a large portion of afghanis in pakistan that have managed to blend in with the local population and haven't left.

.
I am willing to let Afghanistan merge with Pakistan, but they must vow to be law abiding citizens of Pakistan.

.
like i said we have to talk to and convince people about this idea. Say for example, there is the Afghanistan Pakistan People's Friendship Association. Afghanistan Pakistan People's Friendship Association - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A long time ago there were movements for a confederation between pakistan and afghanistan. if that was taken care of, at that time, they would have slowly become a merged state and we would have had much larger country. we would only have to worry about one side of the border.

During the 1965 war, we did not mobilize all our military against the eastern border against india. Afghanistan military started to move troops close to our western border, claiming they would protect pakistan in case of india's invasion. however, we knew that afghanistan would only protect NWFP and FATA, possibly baluchistan and annex those territories. Therefore, we were actually forced to spare some air bases for the western border.

it's true afghanistan has always been a problem for us, yet we must always remember afghanistan has always been pretty much a problem for pashtuns during the second half of this century. we can try to convince pashtuns on this matter, that pakistan merging with afghanistan is the best solution for them.

it would unite pashtuns living on both sides of the border and would further the amount of ethnicities living within the state, leading to more equal environment. we wouldn't have this "punjabistan" problem, intelligence agencies are trying so hard to instigate upon.
