By official stance AL has allowed all those who have hidden taxes from the government to bring those back to the economy without facing any legal consequences. That's encouraging more people to avoid taxes but the government doesn't want to lower revenue, thus it is increasing prices of oil, gas and electricity when at the global market the opposite has happened. For which there are very little subsidies for oil related products and it gets to spend money elsewhere.
Also the government has more power over legal system now than ever before, thus it can knock down any investigation into it. Also, it imprisons anyone who says something against it and shuts down media networks for doing so.
Basically, Hasina is trying to do what Stalin and Mao did with Russia and China, that is kill the population (not caring about increase in prices of commodities) for development of nation.
Under BNP it was Tariq and his little goons taking a lot but under AL, there are too many of them all trying to take what they can.
OK, I will keep your perspective in mind. Thanks.
I wish for Bangladesh to have a new dynasty-free crop of leaders and bureaucrats. This will happen with the proper education....that is the key for people to take hold of their destinies firmly. In the meantime, we will have to wait and see I guess.
