Opinion; Imran khan wants to wait till qoam gets enough chatrool

One of Imran Khan’s biggest fault/weakness was that he didn’t exercise his power.

Punjabis have been utterly Begheratfied. Media is epitome of that culture. You can’t be civil with them & expect a dignified response.

Do their chitrol regularly & they ll sing your praises.
Listen, this choon’ke chunanche attitude is a load of BS.

As a Punjabi it hurts me to say this but it’s the truth, Punjabis only appreciate chitrol.

IK should have done nothing but chitrol for the first two months of his tenure and things would have been great by now.

If he’s ever allowed to come back in to power again by Army, he should dedicate the first 3 months of his tenure for chitrol of Punjabis across all segments of society. Start with Judiciary ( especially lahore high court ) then bureaucracy, then Media then Traders & then police.

Why is that? What is the cause of that?

maybe getting conquered again and again. central asia, ranjit singh and the british. probably the spirit of dullah bhatti got broken somehow. the flatlands also are not ideal fighting ground. nothing to take away from afghan bravery against empires but their terrain does lend itself to guerilla warfare. they'd be in a much worse shape trying to mount resistance in flat punjab.

In sheer population Punjab is around 90 million....

Which begs the question at one point will people mass assemble?

most ppl are sheep. need to be led. even the independent minded bengalis needed a mujeeb/ziaurrahman to take that step. otherwise their grievances(some justified others not so much )were way before the elections. they were willing to cross the Rubicon. as we saw on the 25th IK is not. he ia somewhat a beneficiary of the system. while he was making the cricket team follow the straight line(not betting) etc, it did help to have relatives like jburki and mkhan in bccp/pcb. if he didn't he may have had faced coups in the cricket team like it happened in the 90s.

4 million people gave their lives for partition. It's there in the awaam, we have to help spark out.
he ia somewhat a beneficiary of the system.

Agree with this point, only reason why he's not going full guang-ho is because he has sympathizers in the system.

People have always turned out because , the videos and live coverage is still happening
Even if it is heavily censored inside Pakistan

Karachi is lost because establishment wants it that way

IK couldnt do much for it as establishment wouldnt allow it
Only way for Pakistan is for rest of provinces to choke punjab's supply lines.

I'd vote for public guillotine for anyone working for the gov involved in more than 100 rupees of corruption.
I'd open up a guillotine making business. I'd never run out of money muhahahahahaha.

For that we need to ask, who in Punjab is actually a Punjabi ?

It’s taken us a Millennium to get here.
It started with Ghaznavi, crystallised in 1857 and concluded with Partition in 1947.

Gradually, Punjabi Nationalism manifested itself in the form of Sikhism. That community has moved out wholesale & we are left with whoever else remains & resides here.

There is no Punjabi nationalism. In a nutshell Faith triumphed & fortunately or rather unfortunately the version of that promulgated and practiced Faith in Punjab is such that everything and anything is pretty much OK.

This is the one of the sole reasons why I feel we have survived this long, Allah will not let their sacrifice go in vain ....

The last scene from the independence drama Dastaan 40.00 onwards has a very deep message. Here after losing everything for Paksitan , Bano ends up in a mental institution after she develops PTSD and mental problems. In the newly formed Pakistan, what she expected after sacrificing everything was not the case. Here there was also a lot wrong with society. In the end she talks about how she will one day go to Pakistan which she and millions other sacrificed for.... it may be 75 years later but we can't carry on like this and disrespect the generation that sacrificed everything for us ...

"No doubt we have achieved Pakistan but that is only yet the beginning of an end. Great responsibilities have come to us, and equally great should be our determination and endeavor to discharge them, and the fulfillments thereof will demand of us efforts and sacrifices in the cause no less for construction and building of our nation than what was required for the achievement of the cherished goal of Pakistan."

Punjabi Muslim Nationalism led to the creation of Pakistan.

Punjabi Sikh Nationalism is the Khalistan movement.

My view is that if Punjabi Muslims can sacrifice their lives for Tehreek-e-Pakistan then they have it in them.

We need to fire a spark, but how?

90 million of them and 60% of the population....

They have to lead the movement.

In my opinion, it is also the work of the older generations of Pakistanis. the likes of Jinnah and others were very very hoshyar. The whole process of getting nukes wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for the establishment at that time.

I have no idea what happened NOW, but now it is the complete opposite.

Dastaan was generally a good drama and I watched it, unfortunate Pakistan doesn't get its narrative out for partition.

Partition had nothing to do with Pashtuns and Baloch. Pashtun and Baloch became "Pakistani" overnight. So when most of us hear about partition we sympathize but we can't really emphasize as none of our people have been through the same.

Which is why I think Pakistan was the result of anti-imperialist Muslim struggle in the subcontinent.

In addition, based on observations of the army as well as other countries I genuinely think Pakistan was a mistake. If Soloman Islands can put their interests first and Pakistan can't then Pakistan has FAILED.

It need to be a united effort for Pakistan. Everyone needs to get out and protest which in fairness they have been doing.

PTI need to move into Sindh and Karachi. They have enough influence on KPK and Punjab.

Imran Khan needs to maintain pressure by doing protests all across Pakistan including Sindh
