Opinion: 1971 to 2021 -- as Bangladesh forges ahead, Pakistan’s denial continues

BD people should visit Pakistan to see how rich they are in their daily life as compared to average Pakistani. This Parvez Behoodaboy should move to India or BD as he loves them both more than Pakistan, I don't understand what kind of bug entered his anus to make him this angry with Pakistan. I think he wasn't given a job in one of Pakistan's defense research center as we know he writes about everything but physics, shows his knowledge about the subject, he is just a carrier teacher nothing more.

. .
I’ve lived in Bangladesh for quite a while, and I’m always surprised to see such articles. You don’t see Pakistan publishing them.
I do not understand what this “denial” means either, when I was BD as a child and studied there for a while, in 4th grade books they would teach the children how Pakistan was vile and evil and whatnot. While here in Pakistan in my 10th grade book, I remember how we were taught that our ignorance and mistreatment of east Pakistan caused the partition, this is the difference between a Pakistani and a Bangladeshi. After 50 years, a Pakistani has moved on, he thinks of a Bangladeshi as a fellow Muslim, after 50 years the Bangladeshi has not moved one because as a child he was taught how evil Pakistan is while their entire country embodies the culture of India, where the actual massacre of Muslims is going on. They talk about genocide with proof from sources no one believes but themselves and the Indians, numbers so inflated even the Nazis would question them. Because they need a reason to play victim, they cry about how Pakistan set them off to a bad start, then what was 1947 for Pakistan? Were we not treated the same when we got our independence By the Sikhs and the Hindus? And what of when Jinnah asked East Pakistan to be its own state but then they insisted to join Pakistan. You shoot yourself in the foot then you cry about it to us.
I personally agree that Innocent people were killed in BD, as they are in any war, it certainly doesn’t make it right, I agree that East Pakistan was treated unfairly before 71’. There’s no denying that. But you talk about a massive genocide that would have wiped half your countries population and then you cry when no one believes you. And you don’t even want to move on, because why? And what of the literal terrorism committed on your side? I’ve never seen that Mentioned in Pakistani school books, only that BD is a friendly country, not the case on the other side.

You can tout Your little economic achievements however much you want. The reality on the ground is that BD is not that important to much of the world. Not to mention the copious amounts of overpopulation in BD is a bomb waiting to explode. When there is no place to live in the country, how do you expect to prosper? In my over a year of living there I could not see a single house because everyone was crammed into high rises. That is not a good indicator of prosperity.

I have always had respect for Bangladeshis because despite what they were taught, I was able to convince them that Pakistanis weren’t some ruthless monsters when I was there, but that doesn’t mean they’re being brainwashed. The same corrupt people have been in power there for who knows how long, the people of BD are better than that, they need to learn the truth for themselves. Instead of comparing themselves to Pakistan they need to compare themselves to themselves and move on. Having lived in both countries; its Pakistan that’s going forward faster, because last I recalled BD didn’t have to fight 20 years of terrorism it didn’t cause and lose hundreds of billions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of people to it. Instead of being thankful for what you have why compare the difference of a dollar like misers. I want better from the
People of BD. They can do better, I’ve seen it myself. The average Pakistani is not brainwashed. That’s where I see the difference.

.
Instead of Bangladesh comparing to Pakistan , compare yourself to South Korea or Taiwan and see how inferior and behind we really are.

Comparing Bangladesh with Pakistan will lead to no where , Bangladesh is a country foreseeable future will be likely a underdeveloped $hithole unless we get a better leader and crack down on corruption.

Brown people just keep falling for the same BS , both Whites and East Asians are decades ahead of us so shut the trap

27 will be really difficult without surplus energy. I hear even in January 2021 Pakistan is struggling with electricity. Sad really. Lost their garments ranking due to this

So did Bangladesh.
look up the siege Bangladesh soldiers were in a particular region in Serbia.Ration was running out and they had just rice and dal... US bombing runs freed the siege, idk after how many days but our soldiers didn’t surrender even when situations was dire. No soldier would survive on fermented rice if that’s not his diet.
Seige of bihac, 1k soldiers. 1 rifle every 4 soldier and food and fuel rationed to last 2 weeks. Without winter gears.
And as some Pakistani only pointed out to me even the stoutest defence of Lahore during 1965 was conducted by Bengali / Bangla soldiers. Is this true?

you are completely right. if Pakistan can have less corruption for the next few decades, and not get involved in any unnecessary wars that dont concern us, then we will make loads of progress, even more than Bangladesh.

regarding 1971 we are always taught that mistakes were made by all sides, but Bangladeshis' are brainwashed into believing that Pakistan did all the sins and the poor Bangladeshis' and poor Awami League were a bunch of angels, masoom, and doodh ke dhule huwe. on top of that repeating that we killed 3 million and raped 300,000 women with zero comprehensive studies done to prove any of it.

i dont see Bangladesh ever becoming the advanced nation that it dreams of becoming, like a Japan or South Korea if it doesnt get rid of its victim mentality. i dont think any country with a victim mentality has ever become a great country. even in straight forward matters like trade many Bangladeshis' say there should be no trade between Pakistan and Bangladesh. did Japan refuse to trade with USA until they apologised for dropping 2 nukes on a civilian population? no, because Japan isnt interested in being a victim and constantly playing the victim card. did the Danes apologise to the British for what the Vikings did before they started trading with each other and having normal diplomatic relations? no.

First of all that's fake, the number of Urdu speaking people killed by Bengaldeshis during that war should also be accounted for. Most of your intellectuals were killed by Indians disguised as Pak army personals.

At the same time Bangladesh needs to get out of this mentality of victim card, its been 50 years, you were with Pakistan for only 20 odd years, that too miles away. So stop blaming Pakistan.

You have to accept the fact that Bangladesh is a tiny country with no relevance in International arena. You might have surpassed Indian per capita GDP or your forex reserves might be more than Pakistan. It means nothing to either India or Pakistan. I have never seen a single headlines in Pakistani media or any Pakistan ever posting themselves that we have surpassed Bangladesh or Afghanistan or Iran.

Just keep working on your own people and good luck.
Pakistan has no reason to fail. It is filled with resources and sane, intelligent people.

Guys we will not succeed together (or even separately) as two brotherly nations if we fight needlessly and compare schwanzes between each other. That is exactly what Sanghis want. Think.

Temporary differences of a few percentage points do not constitute a trend.

Try to act wisely. Increase trade between each other, forget past mistakes, and above all, move on.

Negate the effect India has on each of our economies. Use diplomacy to reduce defence expenditures, once Modi exits.

We can both prosper if Pakistan's role replaces India's role in trade with Bangladesh.

Money is where it's at, for stabilizing our countries.

Religious stuff can take a back seat - for now.

Do the sane thing - move on.

You need to tell this to BD people, who bring 1971 victim card on every other post. It just shows the insecurities.

Sir you have made a wonderful post . I totally agree With my experience of interaction With Bangladeshi citizens In many parts of the world including Pakistan . I Urge and request My Bangladeshi Brethren That The economy of hate is not going to lead anywhere We consider you and respect you and love you as our brothers . Trust me that we have never taught our children and our generations any hatred against you . We are happy that you are independent And we wish that your Independence is preserved and safeguarded. it is time to move on. And you may not be able to move on unless you correct the perspective of history that is That is being taught By your Akademia

How many times such article is necessary I have no idea .

Some people really love to see Bangladesh is degrading in a Pakistani forum.

It's a great news that we are doing fine , and I hope Pakistan isn't unhappy that we are doing well.

But there is no reason to rub it on their face in their forum.

It only create enmity between the two nation and it's people.

How many times it's necessary to chest beating about success? It's not high class behaviour .

I am wondering Wmwhen such things end!

there are some Pakistani trolls online, but i have never met a fellow Pakistani face-to-face that is unhappy with Bangladesh's progress. its not even a topic of conversation on a day to day basis. nobody in Pakistan still talks about 1971 and the crimes that all sides committed. we moved on long ago, but clearly many in Bangladesh havent moved on, and dont want to move on.
