Operation Swift Retort section at PAF Museum Faisal

Militarily, the operation was viable in many aspects, and as such will not lead to court martial.
How?

This operation was rejected during Jehangir Karamat's tenure when it was thoroughly analysed. It was not the first time that this operation was brought up; it had been lingering since Zia's time. Unless supported by a secondary attack in some other sector, it was speculated that this sort of operation would fail.

The original operation envisaged establishment of just 14 posts. When over 100 posts and pickets were erected, the result was logistical nightmare.

All the SOPs were bypassed since it was not war gamed beforehand. Even the air force and navy were kept in the dark; manpads were over estimated, enemy response miscalculated and no diversionary front was opened.
While you point out Military leaders, the civilian leadership should be questioned too.
Yes they are questioned. My post was directed towards those who shift the entire blame on the civilian leadership.

The operation was revised many times in different ways. The inception was there but the planning kept changing till the time it finally took place in 1999. The operation was militarily conceivable and it brought success, at first. The disagreement with civilian leadership whether to go forward or retreat, kept the forces in lull. Some advantageous positions were evacuated, some positions were consolidated, some were lost. The SOP's were there and they were followed up, but the results of disagreements between NS and Musharraf, further resulting in US involvement created different groups with all cadres.

Now, Civilian leadership and military top brass ensure they are on same footing for Military Ops.

Just facts. It was a massive war of propoganda and deception at its finest & our bengali brothers fell to the deception. We made our mistakes mostly political and administrative in nature. Our bureacracy must be singled out for their imperial tyranical psychopathic superiority cult considring them to be the allete of mankind & rest of us as mice or even less. They are the real architects of 'bengladesh' and most of them deserve the hangmans noose around their arrogant necks.
Could not agree more with your analysis @messiach .

Initially the operation was a success, India only gained ground when IAF got laser guided ammunition from Israel and PAF stayed away from the conflict. It was politically where we lost.

any in put for this video.. or someone can work on this
Stupid video from start to finish. Insert any aircraft besides the F-16 and you will not be able to refute it, given how bad the quality of the video is. Better not to waste brain cells on Indian fantasy videos.

Ok. I thought someone could fit Mig 29 may be in it if not SU 30.

It's just a video which relies on confirmation bias. He just sees what he wants to. He is a desperate Indian who cannot comprehend what his Airforce suffered. He ignores the fact that no mig 21 missile was fired. He is just obsessed by dgisprs three pilot statement. Thats the basis of his theory.

It only glorifies F-16 and due to that Pakistani already stupid youth are further plunging in their stupidity and harping Indian narrative giving PAF museum display as proof

Operation Swift Retort is divided into two parts:
1)Bombing run
2)Shooting of Mig

Thunders and Mirages carried out the first part.
F-16s did the second one.
My 2 cents.
