Fortunately, if you are a fan of Opera’s desktop browser, they have just updated their browser with some new goodies, including a built-in currency converter.
You can simply make the browser show all foreign currencies in your currency of choice. From now on, it will automatically show you the converted rates when you highlight a price, using the daily exchange rate from the European Central Bank.
“Cross-border e-commerce is booming all around the world. According to research, within four years, 45 percent of online shoppers worldwide will purchase products from foreign online stores.” said Krystian Kolondra, Head of Consumer Browser Products Business Unit at Opera.
The decision seems to be made keeping in mind people like us. Living in Pakistan, a lot of us have faced this issue. Stores like AliExpress, a Chinese e-commerce store, are a popular destination for a lot of Pakistanis but they default to showing currency rates in Dollars. Opera’s currency converter, although a small addition, can be a huge time-saver.

In the midst of browser wars between Google’s Chrome, Microsoft’s Edge (and Internet Explorer) and Apple’s Safari, Opera gets ignored most of the time. Although an incredibly efficient and well-designed browser, Opera hasn’t got the recognition it deserves, smudged between technology giants the likes of Google and Apple.
