I'd settle for that. The only positive I could see from buying JF-17's would be to boost our aerospace industry and in the future licence build our own planes.
i think may be much more than that bro..
coz JF can carry varities of precision Bomb.. good for insurgency.. also it can used in maritime strike which is lack now coz it can carry 3 C-802A Ashm.. plus low maintainance cost.. suitable for stop-gap and to replace with F-7.. if we get assembly right.. it would a good deal bro..

Oh no, absolutely. JF-17's can also carry the C-802 so we can have a naval standoff weapon (I know we have Kh-35 but I don't know whether they can be fitted on our MiG-29's). But it's a cheap stop-gap to replace our F-7's. I was hoping we could get some Flankers to increase our front-line fighter abilities. I know our fighter pilots have been asking for Flankers for a while 'cos the MiG-29's have short range as have the F-7's.

i think we got at least 8 SMT which can fire both Kh-35 and Kh-31.. and we have naval version kh-35.. Air-lunched version is may be different varients..
here is our MiG-29 is taking some exercise in snow field.. i think in overhauling and upgrading process somewhere falling snow.. :D

Fm-90 capability against sea skimming path profile of say C-802A is probably quite poor. It (FM-90) is no Barak 8, thats for sure....not to mention the sensor profile on the BNS Bangabandhu is not a really top tier one.

Lets ask
@AUSTERLITZ and @Penguin for their input.

The picture in your post #200 is not that of FM-90, but of C-802 or C-803. As far as I know BD Navy has procured C-802 in 2008 for the Navy. The airforce has procured FM-90, a SHORD (Short range air defense system) missiles to defend various important installations from enemy air attack. FM-90s have been placed in and around big cities and long bridges. Please click the link below for news about C-802 induction by the Navy:

well... that pic is FM-90 N on board of ur F 25 Ulsan Class frigate.. right..? @Nabil365 C-302 and C-303 is Land Based AshM which is huge in size... :D

here some spec of FM-90

Max operating range: 15 km (FM-90, all targets)
Operating altitude: 30–5,000 m (98–16,404 ft) (HQ-7/FM-80) ..... 15–6,000 m (49–19,685 ft) (FM-90)

C-802A
Flight altitude 3–5 m (attacking); 5–7 m (cruising)
Kh-35
Flight altitude 10-15 m en route and about 4 m at terminal area

So.. as our brother @Nilgiri said , it hard to kill... :D

Sorry, for the typing mistake. The ship in the picture was carrying C-802 or C-803, and not C-302 or-303. FM-90s have also been inducted, but, as Short Range Air Defense System or SHORD. These are not on ships, but are placed on land. Please do not get confused. BD military has alreaday inducted both types of missiles already.

But those aren't C-802 launchers in the pic.

Please read carefully the news below to know that the ship is carrying C-802. In case if it is carrying other type of missile, we will have to check out if a revised version of SHORD FM-90 has been fitted in an another ship different from BNS Osman. from @bluesky.

Bangladesh Navy successfully test fires long range missile

Unb, Ctg

Bangladesh Navy yesterday successfully test fired C-802 missile in the Bay of Bengal, following an upgrade to the missile system with the assistance of a Chinese technical team, officials said.

“BNS Osman could attain this glorious level of achievement after two months of laborious attendance by the Chinese technical team and ship staff,” said an ISPR release.

This is the first instance BNS Osman, commissioned on May 4, 1989 as the only missile frigate, fired long-range ship-to-ship C-802 missile, which is capable of destroying any target within 120 kilometers.

Chief of the Naval Staff Vice-Admiral Sarwar Jahan Nizam expressed his heartiest thanks to the government of China as well as all Chinese delegation members on behalf of the Bangladesh government.

Principal Staff Officer Lt Gen Masududdin Chowdhury said the upgradation programme is “part of the government policy”.

Commodore Commanding of BN Flotilla Commodore HR Bhuiyan, Commodore Superintendent Dockyard Commodore Jasim Uddin Bhuiyan, and Chinese Defense Attache senior Colonel Ju Dewu, among others, were present.

Haha. Bongos are so touchy. I'm not saying you don't have C-802's. That's the main weapon system on your frigates. I'm saying the ones in the pic aren't c-802s. They look more like an air defence system.
