One killed in Mardan blast: Attack Foiled

MARDAN: Two people were killed in a suicide blast that occurred in an Ahmadi worship place in Mardan, Canal road area during Friday prayers.

Two have also been reported injured in the blast. Canal road is one of the posh areas of Mardan.

This is the second blast in the province today. Earlier on Friday morning an explosion near a police vehicle in Peshawar killed one policeman and injured three.

Its a common occurrence for terrorists to attack during prayers or religious precessions. Its shows the height of cowardice that these people have to attack at such times.

Mardan: Suicide attack on Ahmadi worship place foiled

MARDAN: A deadly suicide attack on an Ahmadi worship place in Mardan has been foiled by security forces, SAMAA reported on Friday.

According to details, a suicide attacker tried to enter an Ahmadi worship place situated in the Muslimabad area of Mardan on Friday.

Security personnel vigilantly interrupted the suicide attacker and did not allow him to enter the building.

The suicide attacker, seeing no way to enter or retreat, blew himself to death in a final, desperate move.

A passerby was killed in this incident, along with the suicide attacker. Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene and transferred the dead bodies to a nearby hospital. The area was cordoned off by the forces.

Earlier in June, terrorists ambushed two Ahmadi worship places in Lahore. More than 100 people died in the deadly attack; scores of others sustained serious injuries. The terrorists managed to escape from the scene, leaving behind one injured accomplice who was captured by the police.

Later on, attackers tried to rescue their captured accomplice from police custody and attacked the hospital where he was being treated for injuries. Seven people, including policemen were killed in Jinnah Hospital.

After the attempt, terrorists managed to escape despite stringent security arrangements. SAMAA

Sadly one life was lost but major human toll avoided in this incident, salute the brave guards who took action.
