What's new

One killed, 24 injured in Kashmir violence

We had such a great chance ending Kashmir dispute completely on our terms back in 1971 but thanks to our stupid politicians... :hitwall:

From what I can tell...the lil bit...you are not one of those people interested in being a leader or taking the lead. But the fact that you care so much about th epakistani PEOPLE might someday put you in a position when you have to. You are the second kind in the making I feel. Like your goal is just to improve Pakistan but you want nothing to do with power....you feel me? Yu're kind of like @Hyperion in that sense I guess. Hypey is like a mixture of both of those and the only one I have met that is a mixture of both. He has the powerful backing and stubborness to be the first kind, where things will be exactly how he watnts them if he is incharge n no one can say a word, but he has a very humane touch to him which makes him the second kind, where he truly cares about nothing but the people n country n that is the only reason he would ever join politics, not for the positions and titles.. he would choose happiness n a politics free life anyday, which is like you. You get me? I could be completely wrong but from the lil bit that i can tell this is what i feel.

Itnaa sahiii psycho-analyze kar liyaa mujheiii ! Am I that transparent ? :ashamed:

I am kidding loser :P

But there are two types of leaders. One is those that are very hard-headed ad stand in the front and take the lead and don't take sht from ppl. The other is the type that don't take the lead unless they have to but bring everyone together and would even stay at the back to make sure no one gets left behind. You are the first kind from the lil bit that I can tell.... :P

Finally you said something nice to me. :P

Thank you for the clarification .I admit we have the tendency to mow down people who support Pakistan. But Hey no hard feelings...Its all good.

No problem. We just don't want anyone to get hurt, do we? I don't think Pakistanis and Indians deserve to live that way, do you want to make another Soviet-occupied Afghanistan or another Vietnam?

Actually bro to me you look that the type of person that would always be in the middle of things and try to calm tensions instead of taking sides. It is obvious from how you behave on pdf too. Like if the topic of a meeting were to be if Pakistan should respond to Afghan encroachment on the Durand line you would be like, "Hey what is for lunch".

.
And you'd obviously pick pakistan if the option is given uncle...
You are such a traitor that sometimes it makes me cry :cray:

I'd pick Pakistan & make every Kashmiri do the same ! :pakistan:

Come to think of it, I can mobilize a few hundred Kashmiris in Lahore alone who could in turn mobilize a few thousand leading to a few hundred thousand Kashmiris in Punjab alone & that would be motivation enough to mobilize the 1 million plus Kashmiris staying in staying in Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan & KPK ! :smokin:

Yeah baby we'd win ! :yay:

Whereas traitors like you would be rounded up, fed enormous amounts of Milk Shake & then tied to a roller coaster that isn't going to stop for the next 24 hours ! :agree:

That is all a ploy ! :D

In real-life I'm a Nationalist bordering on Jingoist ! :ashamed:

problem is we south asians are too much emotional to deal with any problem in sensible way. we like to remain delusional rather than taking a realistic approach.

I ws actually thinking that too. But he's really not, maybe just on pdf. He is very strong about his beleifs and when it comes to Pakistan and his stance he is a leader I feel. Someone in the middle would be more like a pacifist that willalways try and "work things out". @Armstrong would rather kick a$$ than work things out when it comes to many things. So I feel like the second one fits him best ya noe :P

Anti-India protests erupt in Kashmir

kashmir-injured-stone.jpg

ndian forces imposed an indefinite curfew in a town in the Indian portion of Kashmir after firing tear gas and warning shots to disperse groups of Hindus and Muslims who clashed during Eid al-Fitr celebrations, police said.

The army began enforcing the curfew as rival groups attacked each other with stones and sticks, and burned several shops and vehicles in Kishtwar, a town 200 kilometres southeast of Srinagar, the main city in Indian-controlled Kashmir.

Several people were hurt in the clashes, said one police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to talk to reporters.

The trouble erupted after Hindus objected to Muslims shouting raising pro-independence slogans on the Eid holiday, which caps the fasting month of Ramadan.

Anti-India feelings run deep in Kashmir, where about a dozen rebel groups have been fighting against Indian rule since 1989. More than 65,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed.

"The situation is serious and our priority is not to allow the situation to escalate," the state director-general of police, Ashok Prasad, said Friday. "We are trying to enforce the curfew strictly."

State Home Minister Sajad Ahmed Kitchloo, who is from the area, escaped unhurt when his motorcade was attacked with stones by the clashing groups.

Indian forces also used tear gas and pellet guns Friday to quell thousands of stone-throwing protesters who took to the streets in Srinagar.

Dozens of protesters, police and paramilitary officers were injured in the clashes, another police officer said.

The protesters chanted, "We want freedom," and "Down with India," as they marched through the streets of Srinagar.

The injured included 19 police and paramilitary soldiers, said Kishore Prasad, a spokesman for the Central Reserve Police force.

Several separatist leaders were put under house arrest on Thursday night to stop them from leading the protests ahead of the holiday, and shops and businesses were closed in the region.

The Kashmir freedom movement has largely been suppressed by Indian troops in recent years, and resistance is now principally expressed through street protests.

Kashmir is divided between India and Pakistan. They have fought two wars over its control since they won independence from Britain in 1947.

The Indian portion of Kashmir is the only Muslim majority state in a predominantly Hindu country.

Yeah he is a big troll but in a subtle way. Like he will ask the mods how their families are in a thread where nuclear threats are being tossed around. How could they possibly infract him over something like that?
