Agreed, provided you have such mutual agreements. If any of those 'other countries' are our allies or friends, what happens becomes our concern.

Probably we are not sending our military to invade other countries for oil. But that does not stop us from saying what is right. So, keep your advice to yourself.
It is simple mindedness, really. Saying 'for oil' is much less intellectually taxing than taking the time to research the issue. It allows the speaker the pretension of sophistication. You keep talking about Americans getting their hands on oil, but I have yet to see anything benefit for us. It seems China was the winner.
Okay. I will get back to that soon. You keep talking about Americans getting their hands on oil, but I have yet to see anything benefit for us. It seems China was the winner.
What currency do the Chinese or anyone else use to buy that oil ?You keep talking about Americans getting their hands on oil, but I have yet to see anything benefit for us. It seems China was the winner.

What is world's reserve currency why it got such a status, what is done to maintain its dominance if you know the answer to these question you will understand why Iraq and Libya were invaded.
You are again asking the wrong question it is not about oil, it is about the status of world reserve currency.Who benefited the oil contracts by Iraqi govt. given to after the Iraq War. If you know the answer, you understand why Iraq and Afghanistan was invaded.

After ww2 Brenton Wood system was created

which established dollar as world reserve currency, that is all international trade and transaction would be done in US Dollars. The dollar was pegged to gold since US federal reserve had most of the gold at that time. But in 1973 Dollar was unpegged from gold since rest the world became suspicious of US dollar asked for their gold instead of Dollar.

Now Dollar had to be pegged to something of value apart from gold. US policy makers realised during oil crisis of 1973

They negotiated with OPEC oil producing countries and later it was agreed that every single barrel of oil will priced in dollars. This lead to the formation of Petrodollar system.

Now to your question why Iraq and Syria where attacked.
In 2000 Iraq dumped dollar in place of Euro

and later you know how uncle sam gave freedom and democracy to Iraq.
Similarly in case Libya Gaddafi was trying to introduce gold based dinar currency in exchange for Oil
Gadhafi’s Gold-money Plan Would Have Devastated Dollar
@jamahir can add more to why he was Invaded
Why do you think US China trade has 500 billion dollar deficit every year but you guys are able to pay for it all the time.
Probably a collateral damage or the military industrial complex wanted to go to war.No I'm asking the right question. Just like asking why did we invade Afghanistan as well? Was it because Afghanistan was switching to Euros? Is it because it has vast resources for the U.S. to exploit? Its just like people pointing out we invaded Iraq or Syria for oil to control.

libya and gaddafi were indeed a problem for nato in many ways... the "gold dinar" was urgent cause... there was also the "africa development bank" that would have been based in cameroon and libya so that african countries can avail of loans for infrastructure projects but without taking interest-based loans from imf and world bank.
there was also political support that libya was giving to groups like farc ( the socialist freedom fighters of columbia in south america ) and the general influence of libya's comrade there, venezuela.
there was the long-standing "united states of africa" project which could have resulted in africa having a single government and a single military, and this would have been the natural extension of the "gold dinar" project... south america also increasing its membership of the "alba" grouping... so two new groupings or blocs ( africa and bolivarian south america ) would have been a very painful headache for nato.
plus the general symbol of anti-nato resistance that libya and gaddafi were.
@Oldman1
What united states of Africa project ? That ridiculous Gaddafi brain fart got squashed when his mighty armored divisions built with oil money got smashed by dirt poor pick up riding Chadians in the 80's
Toyota War - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A United States of Africa spanning Cape Town and Cairo was proposed by Gaddafi in 1999 as a way of ending the continent's conflicts and defying the west
Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi said on Tuesday his dream of a United States of Africa was still alive and this week's African Union summit was another step toward that objective.
"united states of africa" was a 90's project... from ( Mugabe revives Gaddafi's United States of Africa dream | World news | The Guardian )...
from ( We can build United States of Africa, Gaddafi says| Reuters ) in 2010...
something related that i saw recently...
Oh yes,now that you mention it,Mugabe looks like a natural leader for this sort of ideea
