"On a Mission to Defend Freedom" - USS John Warner is Commissioned

Probably we are not sending our military to invade other countries for oil. But that does not stop us from saying what is right. So, keep your advice to yourself.

You keep talking about Americans getting their hands on oil, but I have yet to see anything benefit for us. It seems China was the winner.

It is simple mindedness, really. Saying 'for oil' is much less intellectually taxing than taking the time to research the issue. It allows the speaker the pretension of sophistication.

Okay. I will get back to that soon.

What currency do the Chinese or anyone else use to buy that oil ?
What is world's reserve currency why it got such a status, what is done to maintain its dominance if you know the answer to these question you will understand why Iraq and Libya were invaded.

Who benefited the oil contracts by Iraqi govt. given to after the Iraq War. If you know the answer, you understand why Iraq and Afghanistan was invaded.

You are again asking the wrong question it is not about oil, it is about the status of world reserve currency.

The dollar was pegged to gold since US federal reserve had most of the gold at that time. Why do you think US China trade has 500 billion dollar deficit every year but you guys are able to pay for it all the time.

No I'm asking the right question. Just like asking why did we invade Afghanistan as well? Was it because Afghanistan was switching to Euros? Is it because it has vast resources for the U.S. to exploit? Its just like people pointing out we invaded Iraq or Syria for oil to control.

US fights for Afghan underground resources: Afghan president

Afghan President Hamid Karzai says the US fights in Afghanistan with the intention of gaining access to the country’s underground resources, adding that Washington's so-called war on terror is not real, Press TV reports.

“Americans have asked Afghans to give them Afghanistan's mining contracts, and I said 'Bring your contracts'... Lots of mines are hidden in Helmand and from the start they have been doing their investigations and finishing their photography. But now they understand that we know about them,” Hamid Karzai said in a Tuesday speech during an official visit to southern Helmand province.

The president went on to say that the US-led foreign forces’ so-called anti-terror war in Afghanistan is not a real one and that the Americans fight for their own interests in the country.

Karzai once again slammed US double standards for holding secret talks with Taliban militants in certain Persian Gulf states and Europe.

Why the war in Iraq was fought for Big Oil
Why the war in Iraq was fought for Big Oil
Editor's note: Ten years ago the war in Iraq began. This week we focus on the people involved in the war, and the lives that changed forever. Antonia Juhasz, an oil industry analyst, is author of several books, including "The Bush Agenda" and "The Tyranny of Oil."

(CNN) -- Yes, the Iraq War was a war for oil, and it was a war with winners: Big Oil.
It has been 10 years since Operation Iraqi Freedom's bombs first landed in Baghdad. And while most of the U.S.-led coalition forces have long since gone, Western oil companies are only getting started.

Before the 2003 invasion, Iraq's domestic oil industry was fully nationalized and closed to Western oil companies. A decade of war later, it is largely privatized and utterly dominated by foreign firms.

Antonia Juhasz
From ExxonMobil and Chevron to BP and Shell, the West's largest oil companies have set up shop in Iraq. So have a slew of American oil service companies, including Halliburton, the Texas-based firm Dick Cheney ran before becoming George W. Bush's running mate in 2000.
The war is the one and only reason for this long sought and newly acquired access.

FULL COVERAGE: The Iraq War, 10 years on

Oil was not the only goal of the Iraq War, but it was certainly the central one, as top U.S. military and political figures have attested to in the years following the invasion.

"Of course it's about oil, we can't really deny that," said General John Abizaid in 2007, former head of U.S. Central Command and Military Operations in Iraq. Former Federal Reserve Chairman, Alan Greenspan agreed, writing in his memoir: "I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil." Then-Senator and now Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said the same in 2007: "People say we're not fighting for oil. Of course we are."

For the first time in about 30 years, Western oil companies are exploring for and producing oil in Iraq from some of the world's largest oil fields and reaping enormous profit. And while the U.S. has also maintained a fairly consistent level of Iraq oil imports since the invasion, the benefits are not finding their way through Iraq's economy or society.

These outcomes were by design, the result of a decade of U.S. government and oil company pressure. In 1998, Kenneth Derr, then CEO of Chevron, said, "Iraq possesses huge reserves of oil and gas-reserves I'd love Chevron to have access to." Today it does.

Probably a collateral damage or the military industrial complex wanted to go to war.

libya and gaddafi were indeed a problem for nato in many ways... the "gold dinar" was urgent cause... there was also the "africa development bank" that would have been based in cameroon and libya so that african countries can avail of loans for infrastructure projects but without taking interest-based loans from imf and world bank.

there was also political support that libya was giving to groups like farc ( the socialist freedom fighters of columbia in south america ) and the general influence of libya's comrade there, venezuela.

there was the long-standing "united states of africa" project which could have resulted in africa having a single government and a single military, and this would have been the natural extension of the "gold dinar" project... south america also increasing its membership of the "alba" grouping... so two new groupings or blocs ( africa and bolivarian south america ) would have been a very painful headache for nato.

plus the general symbol of anti-nato resistance that libya and gaddafi were.

"united states of africa" was a 90's project... from ( Mugabe revives Gaddafi's United States of Africa dream | World news | The Guardian )...
A United States of Africa spanning Cape Town and Cairo was proposed by Gaddafi in 1999 as a way of ending the continent's conflicts and defying the west

from ( We can build United States of Africa, Gaddafi says| Reuters ) in 2010...
Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi said on Tuesday his dream of a United States of Africa was still alive and this week's African Union summit was another step toward that objective.

something related that i saw recently...
