Perrine Laffont wins gold in women's moguls. She beat the favorite from Canada who was supposed to repeat.

Canada takes the silver and the girl from Kazakhstan won the bronze. Pretty cool.

The Norwegians are going to be tough to beat, they just cleaned house in the cross-country competition.

I hate that the alpine skiing events keep getting postponed. I was looking forward to seeing Schifrin race last night.

I guess the weather has been crappy.
BTW she's supposed to clean house! That's how good this chick is. Her mom is her coach which is pretty cool.

A lot of the other events are pretty cool like the 10km pursuit in the biathlon where they have to stop and shoot targets and keep trekking while shouldering the rifle. That is a GRUELING challenge (especially those long uphills oooof) and to win in that like the French men's that @Vergennes posted is really quite the accomplishment. But as interesting as those events are, they just don't compare to the classic events in the Alpine skiing competition because you know the class in that popular sport is just the best of the best filled with the big guns from all countries. And those downhill challenges are a blast!

The medals look pretty cool.

The gold medal weighs the most at 586 grams. A total of 259 sets of medals have been made for the 2018 Winter Olympics, according to the Games official website.

The Netherlands has jumped into 1st place with 10 total medals while Norway has dropped from 1st to 3rd. Canada in 2nd. US is still in 5th place.

That was awesome, for sure.

But BIG BUMMER for the men's hokey team...they just lost to Slovenia 3-2 in sudden death overtime! They were up 2-0 then 2-1 with 1:47 left in the 3rd period when Slovenia pulled their goallie for an extra skater and tied it up forcing OT and they went on to be the US! Shame, but credit the Slovenians they played hard and never gave up.

The U.S. Men's hockey team just lost to Slovenia in OT. US had a 2-0 lead in the 3rd and lost. It's a shame the NHL couldn't come to an agreement with the IOC. The US would have sent over its most talented team in history with a legit shot at gold.
