Of 9 Trials, Akash Failed in 2

S-400 has 10-12 times the range of Akash. SAM systems effectiveness depend a lot on range
Similarly nukes will have a high kill range than a bullet. Weapon system effectiveness depends a lot on range. The logic fits here too !!

S-400 is nothing but an improved s-300 with old tech PESA radar...........its nothing revolutionary.
Akash too uses a PESA.

In navalized version boy,the s-300 uses an old pesa+simple mechanical pulse doppler radar combo vs MF-STAR which is an AESA used in the barak-8 which is 70 km and will be used in our ships starting from INS kolkata and barak-er which will be 120 km sam based on barak-8 that will be used by army and air force...........buooyy:sarcastic:

barak-er of course.

Akash has 60km tracking and 30km engagement.
S-400 has 600 km tracking and 400 km engagement. Can fire missile 160 missiles at once towards 80 different targets.

Continue.

As usual a stupid argument again.
We will make a better sam next time with this experience or another barak version rather than relying on modernized s-400.Had we done that what would we use for ships?s-300:lol:.Russia is past its glory.

If russian sam's were this good we would have done a jv with them and not israelis.Their radars suck, they still have to field an awacs with aesa and have 0 aesa destroyer in the navy.

On akash its a start by india. We will make an improved version in future with this and for the time being barak er is good enough with 120 km range...for ballistic missiles we are testing the anti ballistic aad and pdv which are true exo atmospheric systems.

.
If I'm not wrong, then Akash is indeed nuclear capable. At least it was designed with the fitment of a very small nuclear warhead in mind. The rational was that the EMP radiation from the nuclear detonation would fry the electronic components of incoming hostile missiles/air crafts and bring them down in greater numbers.

Do we have a Nuke warhead as small as able to fit into Akash?

WTF? the same indians used to make fun of our 60km range tactical nuclear capable ground attack missile are now celebrating 25km range surface to air nuclear missile, so detonating nuclear missiles above their own heads is a great innovation.

Its an Air Defence Missile :hitwall:

You are forgetting about the AAD,it already has a slant range of about 180 kms and is in the range of S 300PMU2.

Do you know the difference bewteen surface to surface missiles and surface to air missiles?

And yes, a 60 km S-S missile is a pointless invention - a free fall bomb strapped to an old mirage-III can do the same job, and quite possibly to greater ranges. There is no new operational capability in a 60 km nuclear weapon that did not exist in gravity bombs.

That Nasr thingy is just a way for Pakistan to boast about every time India does something that Pak cannot - build a nuclear sub, or send probes to the moon or mars, or anything beyond Pak's capability. The very next day there will be a Nasr test.
