here in west everyone is programmed towards materialism. to be honest it hard to save in the west becuase they putting up prices plus debt climbimg.

There are good and bad everywhere but in the West, in most cases the law is upgekd, whereas Pakistan is corrupt to the point of being lawless. In Karachi, the police was in cahoots with MQN murderers and terrorists. No one wants to go to the police because they will face more problems. Huge difference.

And don't give me example of MQM only, as if in Punjab, KP and Sindh you have small street thieves and you don't have gangs like Chhotu Gang, and inter-provincial organised criminal gangs. Karachi is still better than the rest of country. Here they don't acid-attack women if they refuse your proposal, and here they don't gang rape women as frequently as in the upcountry before killing the poor soul.

Quite a few years ago there was a mass unrest in Karachi where thousands of people smashed ATMs and caused havoc. This mob also broke into a factory and raped a woman. A mob of hundreds watched. But I gave Karachi merely as an example.

You need to present data to prove your point. Having been robbed at gun point in Karachi and now living in Sydney, I have first hand experience of what it means to fear for one's life vs being carefree. Australians are generally polite, genial people taken as a group if you are yourself educated and well presented. Bring well presented in Karachi will get you mugged. Even DHA isn't immune from this. Here, there are some areas where u cam get into trouble at night, but there are large areas where you could walk alone at 3 AM in the morning and you will be completely at ease. If you come across someone and nod you will get a smile in return. There is a world of difference. I am not biased, I merely speak from the facts I know.

Hold on a second. Define West please. West isn't just America. 'West' is Europe including the likes of Scandinavia, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. Are you telling me what you say applies to all these places?

The point is, there is lawlessness in Pakistan. I am not trying to defend Europe. The thread title talks about West and I am saying the West in general is a much safer place in day to day life.
