Exactly. The police should be able to use any and all means at their disposal to prevent terrorist attacks.

They wasted massive resources by spying on average Muslim students of elite universities. And after years of spying, they literally found........nothing. Literally, nothing!

Whats the point?

There definitely should be targeted profiling..but to profile an entire community is just waste of resources.

Of course racial and religious profiling works. It is a very effective method of catching bad guys.

Profiling is more advantageous than even it's advocated assume it to be.

The act trapping terrorist by FBI is the only reason why there are no terrorist attacks in US. It catches potential JIhadis, but that is secondary to it's purpose. It sow seed of doubt in mind of wannabe Jihadi as to whether the person supplying him knowhow is genuine or not.

This means that US based JIhadis would have second thoughts while accessing the reliable bombing material and bomb manufacturing specialists. It means that a wannabe Jihadi would have to take matter in his own hands and would end up like Times Square Bomber.(Failed attempt due to wrong ingredients)

Its a business case, I know where you are coming from. But how management see it is:

Cost / Effectiveness... It is effective for them, that is why they will continue it. Especially after Paris.
