Bottom line, China should focus on the economy. Nuclear weapons didn't save USSR, they won't save China either.

China is focused on economy. Focusing on economy does not mean you let someone bully you around militarily.

Nuclear weapons DID save the USSR. Nuclear weapons made sure no one ever invaded the USSR ever again or ever get into a direct conflict with them.

USSR collapsed due to their state-controlled economy where prices of goods and services were set by the state. Their entire economy was controlled by a few big state-owned companies.

Having a large nuclear arsenal assures Mutually Assured Destruction scenario in place.

That practically eliminates any country messing with you.

You do realize the US have a mere population of just 300 million. If the Chinese missile penetrates into the US mainland, half of the population would be wiped out. You could be the unlucky one to perish. Who's gonna operate the rest of the retaliatory strike?

First, I doubt Chinese leadership has guts to fire missiles at US...Second, by publishing this article, US is inviting Chinese to do that...I dont think Chinese are so ignorant that they dont know that US spy satellites, spy planes, drones, people are keeping close eye on Chinese movements for decades..they must know more than what current Chinese leadership knows..If Chinese takes out its Sub with Nukes loaded, it will be a good practice for US to test simulated detect and attack live target...!
