Now, Sri Lanka pulls out of SAARC Summit

Contrary to indian monkey dance and indian habit of acting as uninvited mouthpiece of other country, SriLanka said
"the prevailing environment in the region is not conducive for holding the summit."

That is diplomatic way of saying india already poisoned the regional cooperation environment and SAARC can not function in the environment of indian mentality of "sir-gi-kul strike" and reneging from treaty.

As I been saying, regional co operation should have fresh start with China, Pakistan, SriLanka, Nepal, Maldives. These countries have no disputes and immanence amount to gain from each other. 100% chance of success.

I know that self-relaince, strong, democracy and love for the country is what we have you go go ahead with the donkey ride with Arabs.

What have Arabs got to do with this??????????.......where did I once mention Arabs in my responses to you?........You are not one of those crazy indians who claim that Pakistan started the war in Syria?.......

SAARC was born dead. Good riddence really

Time to create a new framework based on mutal cooperation and real development.

CPEC is one such framework. Let us bring in SL, Nepal and Maladives also Iran in it. Sino-Pak productive partnerships with all these countries is already a great start. Turkey must be in it as well along with GCC.

After Buhtan gains its freedom from indian occupation it is welcome to join.

Pak diplomacy must capture this indian farce with both hands and declare this empty SAARC dead and build together with China something that is more productive and yealding results.

Instead of photo ops which cost millions without results. International community consisting of BD and AFG can form a new grouping with thier overlord.

Somehow blessings after blessings are landing at Pak's house....hopefully, the Pak political class and diplomats are alive to this and capitalise for a peaceful outcome. Time for indian Zerosum games is over.

Time for Sino-Pak Friends to create a new regional organisation.

Who honestly cares????????........it means nothing to us. SAARC is the most useless, powerless, pathetic and hopeless organisation on planet earth. It can NEVER EVER benefit Pakistan. Truth is that Pakistan has virtually nothing in common with the rest of South Asia and they mean nothing to us. Fact is there are only 2 nations who are important to Pakistan: China & Turkey. All other nations are irrelevant as far as we are concerned.

Your comments remind me of a story

A person goes to his friends place to offer condolences as there was a death in the family.

Once he goes inside the house, he becomes speechless as everybody is celebrating the demise.

NOW that guy is confused whether he should cry or rejoice :hitwall:

Just like india could do nothing to Pakistan after mumbai 2008 despite being at least 7× bigger than us and having the full backing of the West and Russia :azn:

Saying india does not wish harm on Pakistan is like saying Nazi Germany did not wish harm on the Jews.

What SL says is that the current situation is not suitable for the summit and we are against terrorism. Indian media has been hyping this statement removing parts and sometimes only putting the statement about terrorism which is not aimed at anyone but the situation in the mainland

They are shameless. And so are those having mini orgasms over this false news.. Same people who call their own press toilets when it hurts their bloated ego's and delusions of grandeur now jumping jigs over sensationalist crap when it suits thier agenda.. Just goes to show how insecure they really are

My personal opinion is GOSL shouldn't have even release this statement, It's been used as petty false propaganda now

Sri Lanka Did Not Pull Out Of SAARC Summit, Foreign Minister

Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera today informed the Parliament that there was no question of Sri Lanka pulling out of the SAARC summit in Islamabad, as the summit could not be held without unanimity.

Since several countries had already informed that they will not attend the summit, the summit could not be held, he said.

"As the Members of this House are aware, the General Provisions of the Charter of SAARC prescribes that “decisions at all levels shall be taken on the basis of unanimity”. Therefore, the moment one country says that they are unable to attend a SAARC Summit, a Summit cannot be held. There was, therefore, no question of Sri Lanka pulling out of SAARC, or Sri Lanka saying that we will not attend the Summit as there was no Summit to attend" Samaraweera said.

"Sri Lanka issued a statement after several countries had informed the current Chair of SAARC, Nepal, formally, that they are unable to attend the Summit, and after the Chair, that is Nepal, issued a Statement as well" he added.

"In our statement, we expressed regret that the prevailing environment in the region, with several countries having stated their inability to attend the Summit, is not conducive for holding the Summit on the 9th and 10th of November, and we expressed hope that the steps required to ensuring our region’s peace and security will be taken to create an environment that is conducive for the pursuit of regional cooperation" Samaraweera said further.

He said that Sri Lanka will attend the 19th SAARC Summit whenever it is held.
