France has predictably acted to preserve its commercial interests, against Pakistan; India is reasonably assured of French support but I wouldn't count on French grace in a fight against the Chinese.

Rafale components are sourced from the US and several countries in Europe, if you want a truly independent aircraft you got to build it yourself.

Word. However, even considering the fact that India gets embargoed by the U.S., you'd have to convince either France or the 4 nation consortium to stop exporting to us, which is negated partially by the fact that we wouldnt be considering their birds anyways without ToT.
