Nothing Comes Without Conditions: China's Relationship With Pakistan

At some point of time, China would start looking at India (assuming it hasn't already) without Pakistan in mind, with economies growing at a pace they are. I'm not saying today but definitely in a decade or so for sure. They way China manages its foreign policy giving great and utmost importance to protecting its trade and business interests, it is difficult to imagine it dealing with India independently.
Of late a lot of articles, analysis have started appearing (especially after POTUS visit) indicating a radical shift in policy of bigger powers like US and China courting India at the expense of Pakistan. This IMHO isn't true. They have started to treat/deal India without any pre-notions in mind and you would expect that for a responsible democracy. I don't think China or US or traditional allies would desert Pakistan at expense of India, but in future in all possibility there would be a complete de-hyphenation of Indo-Pak policies.
& i do hope (for our western neighbors) that this separation and treating Pakistan on its merits rather than as a counter agent to any society would be the right course of action in world politics.

A Very nice and balanced article....Here pakistan need to understand that , in this world between any two country there is nothing called friendship...Every country is looking for there interest first... there was time when China and US was supporting pakistan just to counter India...Still game is same but target is changed ...Now US and china want business with India... I am very much sure that , pakistani will never understand those points.

Who cares. If China sits around and does nothing, it will be affected also. Its a no brainer. India should devise a way to bring down the economic corridor thru Pakistan to the Gulf. That way Pakistan will seal its faith. Islamism is never going away. It will morph into something more sinister with ample cash to fund its objectives whatever they may be.

Oddly enough, the article seems to speak of just one analyst.
Regardless, the Islamization of officers and troops is a threat but is also greatly exaggerated.

The sole reaming barrier is the Border issue, once that is solved we will see truly large scale Investment by the Chinese in Indian Economy

Sir i guess bigger threat is radicalization and political ambitions of army top brass. Till armed forces stick to their job of soldiering and protection of all in society, don't think faith in any religion would do any harm.

This picture is sooo wrong, in sooooo many ways! :D
actually men holding hands in China isn't a weird thing, though lately with Western media, it's has a sort of different meaning.

Mostly, for example one of the famous stories is a war lord spent three days and nights with a strategist talking about the world and everything, and they slept in the same bed.

Now in Chinese understanding, this would be a show of respect, while in the Western view, gay.

Which leads back to the question, why is everything gay? If I light a cigar, it doesn't mean I'm a paraphillia, just means I like a good cigar, being gay is gay.

Radicalization of top brass may not be too much of a concern as much as radicalization of 20 Brigadiers who can muster troops for a decisive takeover. Even that however, is well constrained by the Army's own checks and balances.
The problem arises from the Army's policy of weaning out these potential trouble makers by transferring them to secondary arms such as logistics and/or training.. and in some cases the ISI. A policy that in my view has been very damaging in the past and today still.

As an example, the leadership of the military and ISI may be comitted to ending militancy but a single colonel or Major who is a little nuts may be able to run his own little terror op using assets under the guise of penetrating militancy. After all, Kim Philby.. the top SPY in the United Kingdom tasked with tackling the Russians turned out to be working for them all along... can you blame the entire Mi6 for that? No you cant, but the damage Philby did made the efforts of all others irrelevant... the same way there is a hypothetical possibility that a single sympathetic officer within the military might end up compromising the efforts of all the rest while seemingly "fighting militancy".

That maybe the dumbest thing on their part.... that and logistics, they, the lost sheep, can do maximum damage.......

Many Indians are generally hateful towards Pakistan, they are obsessed with Pakistan, they hate Muslims and Islam maybe due centuries of conquests. Don't be fooled by their sweet talk, its just that some don't have a courage to speak freely and express their hatred. I have never come across any other nation that is so obsessed with its neighbour.

And let me make it clear that not all Indians are that hateful, its just the the ones who make the most noises are the ones we mostly think about. Just like in Pakistan we have the Mullah brigade, India too has a problem in rising Hindu extremism.
