Not waiting for phone call from Biden, says PM Imran

The thing is when the PM wants and says the same thing, there is no need. The governemnt and armed forces thinking process is the same, we have never seen such synergy before ( because for the first time our civil government is not being influenced from outside and can resist pressure) Thats why i say i feel very confident the way Afghanistan is being handled. US is finding a scapegoat, and demanding all sorts of ridiculous things,
1) Airbase
2) Open border for refugees and the latest
3) Take action against Taliban.

We have roped in China and Russia, and are resisting and will continue resisting these ridiculous demands.

There's no doubt that we are being scapegoated, whether that's Ghani's crying, or India's scheming, or the US' convenient denialism. Up to this point, I agree with all of you. But I am of the opinion that finding a way forward with the US is of paramount importance.

Currently, the tone we have adopted as a rebuttal against the US is this: "you left without consulting us, and left without a settlement, now the Taliban are in ascendency, it's no wonder we're not able to restrain them. You could have waited, took us in confidence, and had some semblance of an understanding with the Taliban before you left - and you failed to convince Ghani. Please, whatever you do going forward, keep us involved and in the loop."

Our national position is correct, but we still face criticism, accusations, bad relations with global powers, and possibly (God forbid) sanctions, if the Taliban takes over.

This is what the security establishment is busy on one hand trying to avoid by talking to the US, and on the other hand preparing for internally. And it is as I said, Moeed Yusuf talking with the US, not our FM. IK's comments are secondary.

Our strategic security and national interest is guiding our policy in Afghanistan not external influence. If we had followed Americas dictation at this crutial moment we would have fell right in the trap and suffered greatly.

I wish Pakistan every success in achieving everything it has planned for. The whole world will see the results.

Moeed Yusef raised the issue of the phone call in the FT interview, hence the press inquiries. It must bother somebody in Pakistan if this issue keeps cropping up.

I think you are not following up ..they are talking to relevant authorities ...US defense secretary has talked to COAS ...there foreign secretary already spoke to SMQ ..

Proof that IK is inconsequential in Pak-US relations. That power resides with GHQ. He's a mere spectator. This explains the lack of phone calls. Also, the US has not even appointed an ambassador to Pakistan yet. What does that tell you?

Exactly, but this how diplomacy works.
Now look from American side aswell, even though Biden is not but there is broad spectrum constant communication from their end, and are more vocal than Pakistan. Just a couple of days ago secretary of defence was tweeting about phone call but there was no tweet from our end.

It is quite clear that US wants neither the premier nor the army will compromise. Infact we are adapting a very clear stance. ' We have done what we can and used our inflence as much as we can and brought Afghan Taliban to the table, we can not do anything more than that, do not scapegoat us for your failure'. Not just once but multiple times.

We are in a situatiin where even finding a middle ground has repercussions for us, the way things are going in Afghanistan. Thats why our NSA is tweeting about things beyond Afghanjstan and America is stuck with Afghanistan if one analyzes the tweets feom bith end after NSA meeting.

They have tried to find a crack between civil and military but to no avail as far as our national interests go, unlike in the past.

Do you really think that the US establishment will let Sleepy Joe talk to Imran Khan. For heavens sake just look at his speeches he gives to the media.
