ISLAMABAD: Appreciating Norway’s long-term partnership with Pakistan in areas of economy, trade and commercial ties, President Mamnoon Hussain has said that the country attaches great importance to its bilateral relations.

He said bilateral ties were based on mutual trust and goodwill.

The premier was speaking to the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in Pakistan, Cecilie Landsverk, who paid a farewell call to him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Mamnoon said both countries had extended support to each other at various international forums, adding that Pakistan looked forward to continued cooperation in various spheres.

“The presence of large Pakistani diaspora of over 40,000 in Norway acts as a living bridge for promoting people-to-people contacts between the two countries,” he said.

He appreciated Landsverk`s diplomatic services in bringing Pakistan and Norway closer during her three years stay as the ambassador.

The president wished the outgoing ambassador good health and success in her future endeavours.

Landsverk thanked the president and his government for the support extended to her during her tenure.
