North Korea fires more short-range rockets ahead of Xi visit to Seoul

North Korea fired short-range rockets into the sea off its east coast on Wednesday morning, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency said, one day ahead of a state visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Seoul.

North Korea, which tested two short-range missiles on Sunday in violation of a U.N. ban, is expected to be high on the agenda when Xi meets his South Korean counterpart, Park Geun-hye.

Xi, who is due to arrive in Seoul on Thursday in his first visit to South Korea since taking office last year, is reciprocating Park's visit to China a year ago.

North Korea's nuclear and missile program, and its plans to hold a fourth nuclear test, will dominate the agenda, officials in Seoul said.

A South Korean Ministry of Defence official was unable to confirm what kind of weapon was fired, but said they were assumed to be 300 mm rockets launched from one of the North's many Multiple Rocket Launchers.

U.N. resolutions prohibit North Korea from procuring and using ballistic missile technology, but short range rocket launchers are not included in the ban.

Kimchi is definitely a derogatory term for the South Koreans by the Chinese.

We made fun of them since they always consider themselves a developed "first world nation", while can't even afford to consume more meats compared to China.

If I was China I wouldn't write them off so quick. You are about to hit the same crisis the west had in the 1970's.
You could export/outsource all your worst and most polluting manufacturing to North Korea at a cost even lower than China.
You'd keep your GDP while cleaning up your nation.

i think the difference of chinese policy betwwen NK and pak is:

1.impression of CN to Pakistan is far more positive than CN to NK.
2.we almost cant see a negative news about Pakistan from CN media,while we often see the negative news about NK.
3.Pakistan govts welcome chinese and CN investments,and NK dare not do these.
4.In recent years,the Pakistan is the only one who are called brother by officials and folks.Usually chinese calls NK and VN as a ingratitude country.
