The tide is shifting. Public opinion on Israel is getting more and more unfavorable. BDS (boycott, divest, sanction) have grown exponentially and will eventually reach global magnitude.

You guys have no idea how MASSIVE fan I am of this man. He is a MEGA scholar in Israel-Palestine issue. He can "quote" books after books on Israeli-Palestinian issue just like Zakir Naik can quote stuff, only difference, he is much, much more scholarly than Zakir Naik, with due respect.

Dr Finkelstein sacrificed his career, his whole life, his reputation in his community, his friends..pretty much everything...just for the sake of principles.

He is the most radical supporter of Palestinian rights I've ever seen. He is a son of survivors of Holocaust and his mother's experience with holocaust left an irrecoverable impression on Finkelstein. This man has been a WALL against Israeli injustices to Palestinians.

Colonialism changes history and historical narratives of the colonized people, and nobody can do anything. Just look at Africa. Same was the case with Palestinian people. In 1984, a "scholar" lady, Joan Peters, published a 1000+ page book to show how Palestinian people were just 'made-up' people and that they were Jordanians who "migrated" to the land now called "Palestine" due the prosperity that Jewish immigrants had brought. Joan Peter's book was very "scholarly" in nature and had over thousand footnotes. American academics just went bezerk on her "brilliant", "remarkable" book which set the history's "record straight". Joan's book was the number one best seller in the United States market. Eveyone was talking about her book on T.V, media etc.

Guess what? Dr Finkelstein, back then a young scholar at Princeton University doing is graduate studies, stood up, and decided to take on entire American Academia and establishment all alone. He read Joan's book four times..and went through every single footnote..one by one..analyzed it..researched it...and all on its own, he published a historical research paper which was SO comprehensive and brilliant that just destroyed Joan's book...and due to Finkelstein's hardwork and ultra painstaking research, British historians and academics came out and accepted that Joan's book was a 'fraud'..later on, even Israeli themselves accepted Joan's book to be, what one Israeli historian called, "mythification of history"..

In this way, a "Jew", Norman Finkelstein, saved an entire people (The Palestinians) from getting erased from history's pages due to colonialism's most lethal weapon--Changing the historical narrative to support permanent and non-reversible colonialism.

And this was just a "start" of Finkelstein's life-long struggle against Israel and Jewish lobby for the rights of Palestinian people.

How sustainable is it for a small nation like Israel to exist in a region where on a lower level, people hold so much hate against it.

Is Israel good at defending itself, from a tactical and a military perspective in the short term, sure. They kick *** and win wars, but unlike the Americans do, they can't pack up and go somewhere else. If they can't learn to live with these people that surround them, something HAS to give in the long term. Equilibrium must be reached, and then destroyed, and then reached again, and so on.

And you're right, there are no friends, but that was a figure of speech which you didn't seem to get.

I like him a lot and have known his works for a couple of years by now. I have read some of his articles and works. He is basically the nightmare of the Zionists. We need more people like him.

He handled himself brilliantly in that debate at Yale University.

So much hate, Common sense yeah that's correct. The Jews are strong and we know that, they have worked hard for this(so fair enough). The neighbors are jealous and weak, Israel can Spank any country in its surrounding whenever it wants and they have done it in the past. So the hate is understandable.

This planet belongs to no one, Territories are taken and kept by force! we learn this from history. Lions also have the same kind of behavior and go about it in pretty similar way to humans. Yes they might have to pack their bags and go, but they might return sooner or later. We dont know. So better stick to the present situation and we pretty much know that.

Palestine is none of our business! Muslim ummah #whatever. The sooner we get rid of this disease the better.
