What's new

No restrictions on telecast of Indian TV channels in Bangladesh.

Some bangladeshi bands became popular along with our bands when band music was the in thing, not anymore.

And bangladeshi channels are not banned, but nobody watch them, so very few operators air them.

I am remaining banned here most of the time nowadays, this forum has changed a lot in recent times.

He is Indian

You mean all sane voices are Indians!

It should be simple, BD should impose 35 lac a year fees for every Indian channels. Problem solved.

Channel fees are dependent upon the kind of ad revenue market it is getting access to, however, bangladesh is obviously free to decide its fees, but given the standard of your local channels, I believe your own cable and DTH operators would oppose to prohibitory pricing for Indian channels to save their own business.

This iis a captive market dude. Indian channels or not people will always keep their cable at home. There are 100s other channels.

Then raise your fees, what's stopping you? You had the same argument for cinema, and we know how it went.

I am not sure, may be some legal issues. We are free market.

if you dont like ban them... or dont watch...
I have observed that bangladeshis are obsessed with bollywood and these crappy channels(people I know here... and even in bd)... I watch max 2 hindi movies per year average, that too after reading reviews... but bdians seem to watch every f*cking movie...
how many hindi movies do you watch per year? @Doyalbaba .. be honest, nobody will judge you
lolzz well it is a fact that ekta kapoor shit is even giving headach to indians but still it is watched widelyvin Pakistan . the reason may be is that thevyoungsters want to live in fantasy.

dont get me wrong... the ladies watch in India.. definitely.. and its a massive market... most serials are geared towards them...
some young guys might secretly watch them(bit like using fair and lovely cream, you dont want to confess)... married man usually say they dont like it, but then after watching with wife a few episodes even they look forward to it... (and they always can blame the wives, 'I dont watch it, its her' :) )

agreed with the women part. I tell you here in Pakistan women watched these useless star plus dramas to an extent of obsession. But he unfortunate thing is people like ekta kapoor are showing such pathetically unrealistic things like dead people becoming alive and then having romance. The same romance scene like a girl is falling down and the guy takes her in his arms  you repeat it in every other fking soap and then you show every household of india is a family conspiracies den. damnn here women even though watch but at the same time they laugh at you.

If you follow the trend carefully you will find that Turkish dramas are getting popular in Bangladesh as well as India after these have swept Pakistani viewers by enthralling them and gluing them to TV screens. The people want a change.

Hear Hear. :-)

And impose tough procedures to downlink just like in India.

The whole hoopla started when Indian Channels started taking Ad-spend and airing Bangladeshi ads on Indian channels.

This can't be allowed without ensuring our TV channels survive by competing on level terms.

The Bangladesh Govt. needs to do its part and it will.

Our TV channels will not lay down or stay silent.

Otherwise why would they telecast? Their source of revenue is ads only.

.
why banning them? why not competition just like what Pakistan did and doing, make quality entertainment (dramas/movies/music/shows) and foreign entertainment will loose just like in Pakistan there was a time when majority of people watch foreign soaps and serials like 15 years ago and it is totally reverse now and even foreigners are now watching Pakistani serials/soaps.

That takes time, money and resources to develop. Won't happen overnight.

The govt. and local channels and media need a level playing field first.

Indian drama and serial producers produce for a much larger market and are therefore far better funded and have better 'talent' to boot.
