BJP did not win because of anti Pakistan rhetoric; they won because people were fed up of Congress and its corruption. There is one more side to the coin - the Election Commission is a watchdog and you can be sued for defamation for direct attacks and invite censure from the EC. But Pakistan is a workaround - so every now and then it becomes an easy target for the rhetoric.

But the thing is Modi used Pakistan to attack his opponents. And he keeps on using it even after getting elected. We have seen that in Bihar elections. We have seen that in Gujarat elections. We have seen that in several other state elections.

Clearly obsession with the other country is far greater in case of Indians.

Other than above issue that current generation of Indians dont give a fcuk about Pak.
