Strange,i have yet to meet any Pakistani even in person claiming so,though indeed i have met some Bangladeshi's claiming so.

Pakistanis are proud of what they are,each ethnicity is proud of what they belong to,be them Pashtun,Punjabi,sindhi,baloch or the other ethnicities of Pakistan.

Yes it is true,we hate it when someone associate us with Indians because we hardly have anything in common today except urdu which infact is not indigenous to 95% of the Pakistanis but more of a communication language of all the ethnicities.

You are right.We will watch Hollywood and their songs.But how much of us ?that is the real question.
And still in one way or another we are following our culture and tradition.

This topic can be debated upon for hours and hours on end.
In the subcontinent, religion plays a huge role in people's lives and Muslims and Hindus have fundamentally different views on morals, ethics, and have a different culture altogether.
While we may share a similar biological heredity we are very different in terms of practices and way of life.
The similarities between us arise mainly from our shared past and the time we've spent together oppressed under the British. If you look at it, neither Pakistan nor India are a single nation. We comprise of many different ethnic groups which have their own distinct language, dress, history etc but you know what's common? Religion.
India is secular I agree but I feel that religion is a huge part that binds the Indian country together.
For Pakistan, Islam and Islamic values is the single main culture behind our unity and our very creation.
Also even our architecture is vastly distinct from each other.
Hindu and Muslim clothing habits, designs and whatnot are entirely different.
So no we are not exactly 'one' people because even though we share many common similarities like food, film, hindi/urdu, and the South Asian heritage, there are also too many differences.
Though I do hope we can overcome these differences and get rid of the hostility between our 2 states.
