Guwahati: Reacting to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement that US based NGOs are funding anti-nuclear protests, US Ambassador to India Peter Burleigh said that the American government has no objection to India's civilian nuclear programmes.
The Ambassador further said that Indo-US relationship is growing in every senses at all levels.
"The Government of US has certainly no objection with regard to nuclear programmes, US is also involved in potential participation in the civilian nuclear programme. Indo-US relationship is growing in every senses at all levels. Relationship has been cordial. We want American companies to be here," Burleigh said.
The reaction comes a day after Singh hit out at anti-nuclear activists and questioned the source of their funding.
Sources say the government is already probing the source and destination of the funding.

No dobut we were so sincere on Nuclear Proliferation. We didnt give Libya Nucler Technology in 80s where they were offering us USD 1 Billion Dollar in Hard cash. Unfortunately our leaders were driven by Hindutva (Let live and Let Others live) wish we were more strategic!!

.
No body said CIA sanctioned the money. It's the fcuking mujltinationals funding it...

It could be CIA too though MMS have not said so.

Why CIA????

Because it was US of A who have got us into the nuclear club with all the clearances, uranium supplies and etc. etc.

But what USA have got out of it?? :woot:

We are building a 2000 MW power plant in TN with RUSSIA and 10,000 MW with FRANCE :woot:

What about USA?????? they have not get single penny or contract of nuclear plant

.
the fact is they are hungry for a piece of the pie. so far they haven't received even crumbs. :)

who want to bet once they get a contract or two , all these "protest" dies down.;)

.
The only reason is that the safety amount has been raised from 500crore to 2000 crore which comes down to ~400 million. Compare it with the $17bn that their Oil Company BP was fined by US government due to the oil leak an year ago.

If they accept the penalty level, we already have places earmarked for US nuclear companies.

.
ya really this ""No objection"" should have come when it matters ( that is in 1998 Pokran).
