Guwahati: Reacting to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement that US based NGOs are funding anti-nuclear protests, US Ambassador to India Peter Burleigh said that the American government has no objection to India's civilian nuclear programmes.
The Ambassador further said that Indo-US relationship is growing in every senses at all levels.
"The Government of US has certainly no objection with regard to nuclear programmes, US is also involved in potential participation in the civilian nuclear programme. Indo-US relationship is growing in every senses at all levels. Relationship has been cordial. We want American companies to be here," Burleigh said.
The reaction comes a day after Singh hit out at anti-nuclear activists and questioned the source of their funding.
Sources say the government is already probing the source and destination of the funding.
