No New Development At Doklam, Says Indian Government

People always forget that big countries never confront each other militarily, they just mark their areas and each country plays its game, for china its Pakistan and for India its afghanistan for US its middle east and for Russia its ukraine and europe, big countries fight economically, they try to supersede, maybe its better than blood shedding....

Look at how hard Modi is trying to cover up his humiliation! Yet the people of India keep challenging him because they see through his lies.

LOL what happened to India boasting about defending Bhutan territory Doklam from PLA?

Sometimes I wonder if this people are living on another planet. This is the completed road network in Doklam Plateau which ends at Doka La, that's the reason there is an Indian base there, that's the end of the plateau, but the end of Doklam itself extends till Gyomochen/Jampheri Ridge, a km away. This was the postponement China gave in return for occupation while India retreated. Doklam Plateau is a plateau within Doklam, the plateau region is the large flat piece of high altitude land crisscrossed by Chinese roads. This was the road India tried to destroy with those bulldozers. Controlling that flat piece of high altittude land meant Siliguri is under threat, we can house hundreds of howitzers and missiles there.

When India says no change in status quo, what does status quo mean, is it the status quo after the disengagement where Chinese troops continued to occupy Doklam within the 300meter buffer zone or did they withdrew from Doklam altogether.

As Indian and Chinese diplomats try to repair the relationship damaged by China’s unprecedented threats and vitriolic propaganda during the 73-day face-off on the Doklam plateau, it needs to be understood that on 28 August both agreed to disengage to defuse the situation. Both armies remain 300 metres apart in the area with reinforcements and additional firepower ready at hand.

NEW DELHI: The centre today said there are no new developments at Doklam and its vicinity and that reports to the contrary were incorrect.

"I would like to reiterate that there is no new development at the face-off site and its vicinity since the August 28 disengagement," External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said.

He was asked about a media report about China ramping up its military presence in areas close to Doklam.

"The status quo prevails in the area and any suggestion to the contrary is incorrect and mischievous," said Mr Kumar.

Troops of India and China were locked in a 73-day-long standoff in Doklam since June 16 after the Indian side stopped the building of a road in the area by the Chinese Army. Bhutan and China have a dispute over Doklam.

The MEA on August 28 had announced that both sides were disengaging from the face-off site.

Great, peace and stability prevailed! Now everyone is happy! :enjoy:
