Nope, merging with KPK is best option. It will make KPK bigger, more seats in parliment even if Hazara province is made. Plus FATA areas will finally start contributing to Pakistan GDP even if difference willl be 1-2%.

Chacha g, you need to understand that in those days, it was Pakistan who needed the tribals, not the other way around. MA Jinnah had lengthy verbal agreements with the tribal elders. FATA and it's status, in itself was a special case.

P.S. Electricity may not have been there, however, there were many other clauses...... I'll ask some elders about it.

uncle ji back in 1947 only few large cities in Pakistan had electricity how would jinnah promise free electricity to tribals where there was none, I doubt even all of peshawar had electricity back than

Besides, the more the provinces, the better. We don't need ethnicity provinces to get any stronger, it'd make pakistan be divided easily one day. I say divide baloch and punjab and sindh. Make more provinces.f

Uhh, what else, if not independence, would you call it when Pakistan gov't never had any writ there. No law ever enforced there, no regular police system, no taxes ever collected more importantly. Basically, left unchecked, unitervened, as they wished and provided free amenities.

What neglecting on the gov't part when this what tribal ever wanted. And it would have been fine, until they decided to rent out their land as a launch pad for nefarious activities against the rest of Pakistan. Well, you know, now the free ride is over.
