What's new

No cow slaughtering in Pakistan’s border district, not under compulsion but respect

The difference between the mentality of a nation.
One is based upon protection of Islamic values and lifestyle which includes respect for other religions.
The other is based upon trying to remove the mental burdens of being ruled for hundreds of years by lashing out at insecurities and aimless attempts at proving themselves.
And yet cracks appear on this very thread.

I fail to understand how can killing innocent living beings and spilling blood be a religious obligation? Why no modern muslim questions this barbaric practise?

Because they're animals. The mental capacity of creatures such as cows and goats is far inferior to our own, they cannot feel emotions the same way we do.

Also, they have many uses. For example, their high protein content makes them a good source of food, their skin can be used to make clothing, their bones can be crushed and used as fertiliser, etc.

So are we.
So are our bones and meat.

Assalamualaikum brother.
The reason we do it is because Allah SWT permits the former. Peace.

We're not animals, our mental capacity is far superior to theirs.

Right, but it's haram to eat other people or abuse their corpses.

Agreed.
Not necessarily.

Our mental capacities differ. There are animals with higher intelligence. But they CAN end up on our plate.

The reason is and we agree, is His Will. That is all.

How is refraining from cow slaughter respect for them? I see it as an insult to Islam.
Cows today, idols tomorrow?
It is a simple case of picking some other animal for slaughter instead of cow out of respect. The difference is that in India they are forcing it on Muslims by passing laws to please the Hindu majority, which is a violation of "secular democracy" that protects the rights of "all citizens". In contrast the citizens of an Islamic Republic are "choosing" to show respect to their neighbors and fellow Hindus by sacrificing an animal other than cow, which is still acceptable in the eyes of Allah and a good deed done by Muslims.

I read a similar news earlier where in Kerala(which is facing heavy flooding), they made space in a mandir(in a section that didn't have idols) for Muslims to be able to pray. These gestures are much appreciated from any side and improve goodwill among ppl while reducing hatred.

Why we call it Cow slaughter...to the best of my knowledge and have seen it and practiced it, no milk yielding, calf bearing Cow is slaughtered here or elsewhere, it is always a Bull...yes for a generic reference it is fine.

Also animal slaughter on Eid ul Adha has lots of economic, health benefits for a large part of lower middle class, below poverty line population in Pakistan and elsewhere, not just a religious obligation for the people who can afford it.

Also more animals are slaughtered in western countries, US, Caanda, EU and many other countries and there meat consumption per capita is much higher than say Pakistan, all behind closed doors...and many a times it was more brutal than what is practiced by Muslims...it is more healthy as well with most of the blood is drenched unlike killing by electric shock and other method in the west.

Up to Rs300b flowed from Pakistan's urban to rural areas during Eidul Azha

Cows today, idols tomorrow?

Asalamu Alaikum

We've already got idols across Pakistan. Just because the statues don't commemorate pagan deities, doesn't mean they're not haram.

Anyway, this matter is a totally different one. If the individual wishes to show some courtesy to his Hindu neighbours, so be it. There is no problem with it so long as he is not being forced, and he is still doing what is obligatory in Islam.

.
No self respecting muslim should have gone there. Allah knows best.
Dude if u can't pray in ur local mosque bcuz of floods...then there's no harm in praying in an area which was free of idols. This whole earth is Allah's creation...anywhere that is clean and free of idols, Muslims can pray there. Kabaa used to have idols...and after it was rid of idols, Muslims prayed there and continue to do so to this day.

Why is it for Muslims only to question their faith? Why no modern Hindu (if such a person exists in the first place) questions millions of backward retarded practices in his ...... whatever you call Hinduism a culture or a religion or whatever it is.

No one questions when a fake santa happens every year, no one bats an eyelid every year when so much resources and money is wasted on new year eve, or a valentines day .......... but come eid and Muslim rituals ... oh its barbaric, oh its backward, oh its this oh its that ............ its your ignorance and your intolerance ..... nothing more nothing less.

Good that you accept your failure ..........
Thousands of cows are slaughtered daily in many countries in the world that are not even Muslim countries. Be it Australia, US, European countries, and even India. Beef is consumed by ppl of all faiths even Hindus. Yet these idiots only point fingers at us when we do it once a year for our religious purposes and suddenly "it's barbaric". I wonder what keeps them from pointing fingers at Jews, Christians, etc.

Whereas in reality atleast in Pakistan we don't slaughter cows, its the male animal that we prefer. Even in case of goats we prefer male animals.

Human brain grew larger when early humans switched to a more meat based diet and started hunting larger prey.

Stick to veggie only diet long enough (100s of years?) and you would end up going the reverse direction, or maybe you already have.
