What's new

Nio Day was a disappointment

that's where you are wrong. Chinese gov give Tesla two options when they entered the market. Partner with an existing Chinese auto company and be considered local or go at it alone and be considered a import. Tesla choose to go at it alone.

Then how "the get alone" can be treated as import? and how the import duty will be imposed if they use local spare parts (battery, etc) that never go through custom?

Kevin is spot on. Now I’m even more bullish on Tesla. While Nio is twiddling its thumbs into 2023, Tesla will be setting record after record. Tesla will dominate China.

man, you really set your priority straight

NIO's share price increases by 6.42%, the first trading day after the NIO event. Obviously the investors that need to take the responsibility for their own monetary interests have a better understanding

Come on dude, the localized Tesla Model 3 are treated as a normal localized vehicle, no import duty needed. The EV subsidies from the Chinese government is also offered to the Model 3, just like the subsidies offered to any electric cars that are built in China, no matter they are NIO, BYD, Volkswagen, BMW, or Tesla.
