look this is a ploy by deepak kapoor to firstly make his previous statement not look provocative as well as justify the state of the art purchases being made by india from israel & US. so his current statement is actually more worrying then his previous big flamboyant talk!

Mr. Zardari did talk about 1000 war in context with India. I won't go in details now.

Also please try to learn Gen. Kapoor statement. He was never saying about attacking or winning two countries simultaneously. Even a child knows it is not possible. A man like him who hold some authority, can not give the statement which suggested it. He was referring to defend India in case of multi-front war and that's his job!!

"In case of war, the plan now is to launch self-contained and highly-mobile `battle groups’…adequately backed by air cover and artillery fire assaults, for rapid thrusts into enemy territory within 96 hours."

If you read the statement, he is saying that if attacked, we will be able to launch offensive within 96 hours. This is not saying that we will win in 96 hours but that our battle groups will be able to counter attack within 96 hours. Thats the cold start doctrine. I dont know what the hoo-haa was all about. But I also think the Indian media is more to be blamed for this than ones across the border..

I think the first comment was for foreign audiences. And the message served it purpose right!!

True but all this has to take place if India is attacked. Basically I am saying the same thing as you are. I was responding to some other member.

I am just making clarification that the Indian general is the laughing stock of the International world.
