We also had "Merhan" not very long ago (it's called as its original name "Alto" here):

People everywhere are nostalgia, they like old models. Sometimes, old means tested and reliable. But sure they should make it more affordable. Here the most value for money car in the segment is this BYD old model sold for ~5,000 USD (average dealer price) brand new:

It resembles the old gen corolla (at that time, i.e., one and half decade ago, copy was prevalent), with a dimension of 4533mm*1705mm*1490mm and a wheelbase of 2600mm, powered by a 1.5 Liter petro engine with 109ps power and 145Nm torque. Equipped with at least the basic safety feature such as ABS. This model alone has sold ~2 million over the past decade in China. and can be considered as China's mehran equivalent, they are affordable so masses can spend a few months salary to own one, and also reliable and easy to maintain, and are still used as taxis in a lot of places for their reliability and affordability...such as North Korea...
