NEW YORK: Ramzan Rana, President Pak American Lawyers for Civil and Human Rights Association, has asked the New York police station No 114 in writing to arrest absconding accused, Pervez Musharraf, wanted in the assassination cases of Benazir Bhutto and Nawab Akbar Bugti back in Pakistan.
Referring to arrest warrant for the former President Pervez Musharraf issued by the judge of an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi, Ramzan Rana said that the American law makes it obligatory for every US citizen to inform police and other departments if he has information about an absconding accused.
Rana said that dictator Pervez Musharraf, an absconding accused in the eyes of Pakistani law, plans to address a gathering in New York on July 17. This has sent a wave of resentment in the Pakistani community here. Therefore in deference to US law Pervez Musharraf should be restrained from making the address and be arrested, he added.

The Arrest Warrant of Ex Pakistani Dictator General Pervez Musharraf

With reference to above we would like to inform you that the Pak-American Lawyers for Civil and Legal Rights are requesting that you to arrest or stop to Ex-Dictator General Pervez Musharraf from attending a meeting in Long island City. He has been indicted in Pakistan for the murder of two prominent Politicians and Office Bearer, one two time Elected Former Prime Minister (Late) Benazir Bhutto, who was killed on December 27, 2007 and second, the governor of Baluchistan( Pakistan), Mr. Nawab Akbar Bugti, in 2006, during the General Mushrraf’s unconstitutional and unlawful rule in Pakistan (like dictator General Pinochet of Chile).

The first arrest warrant has been issued by the Pakistani Court of Law, a special anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, under the supervision of Judge Shahid Rafiq, regarding the Benazir Bhutto’s murder case.

The second murder case has been registered against Ex-Dictator General Musharraf and others regarding the assassination of former governor of Province Baluchistan Pakistan, Mr. Nawab Akbar Bugti, who was killed in 2006 by the order of Ex-Dictator General Musharraf, who publically confessed many times to this murder case.

Being a good citizens of this great country of United States of America, we are very concerned that a murderer and absconder of two prominent Pakistani politician as well as two time former prime minister of Pakistan Mrs. (late) Benazir Bhutto and Governor Mr. Nawab Akbar Bughti is coming to attend the meeting on July 17, 2011 at Soundview Broadcasting Studios located at 36.01, 37th Ave, Long Island City (Queen) New York, which will be provocative to the Pakistani community residents, whom were emotionally injured by said Ex-Dictator General Musharraf.

Furthermore it is our duty to inform to the Law Enforcement Authority about any person involved in crimes, especially who was involved in two prominent murder cases. He should not openly enjoy himself in the land of U.S.A, which is ruled by the Rule of Law.

There for we request you please take maximum action and arrest him on the bases of warrant issued by Pakistani Court of Law or stop him from attending this meeting, which will disturb the Pakistani American Community living peacefully in New York City Area.

Further information please contact this number (516) xxx.xxxx.

Yours Sincerely,
Ramzan Rana
President

Musharraf says will return on March 23

DALLAS: Pakistan's former president Gen. Pervez Musharraf (retd) has said that he never had any power sharing agreement with President Zardari. Zardari met him twice when he was in power, and he never had any other contact with Zardari.

Former president made these statements while taking to local residents and The News correspondent at the residence of APML's regional coordinator Javed Siddiqui in Dallas.

He said that Geo News is producing unbiased reports about him and he is having better relations with the media.

Pervez Musharraf categorically denied any grouping in ISI.

Answering a question, fomer president claimed that that it was wrong to talk about two groups in ISI, he said the Army chief has unlimited powers and he can easily sent his Lt. general home whenever he wants so groupings in ISI is out of question.

Commenting on Osama's killing in Abbottabad, he said that nobody informed Americans about presence of Bin Laden in Abbottabad, adding that even Americans were not sure of his presence minutes before the operation.

He said that it is not correct to say Osama was living in that house for 5 years.

Musharraf said his return on 23rd March 2012 is a final decision.

When asked if he is ready to face Pakistani courts and if he is worried about going to jail, he laughingly said that he is not scared of jails. He said that there are two big cases against him which include Benazir Bhutto and Akbar Bugti's murder cases.

New York Police can't touch Musharraf as he is not on Interpol List or anything like that - Even if something happens then State Department will intervene.

This is pretty weird.. Even theoretically its gonna be tough for USA LEOs to ignore this after a formal complaint by a citizen. Unlike in the subcontinent, the police department can be sued if they dont take action..

The police can only act if they are asked by Pakistani Government to arrest him (Even then, Pakistani Government would have to go through State Department or he is on watchlist of FBI/Interpol - Citizen is asking Police to arrest him because of the cases in Pakistan where US Police does not have adjudication. Therefore, they cannot arrest him unless his arrest warrant is issued by US Court.

However, they can not ignore complaints against a Pakistani national who is a murder suspect and is declared as a proclaimed offender in a Anti Terrorism court in Pakistan..

The thing is that this is the reason people tend to stick to power in Pakistan..They know that the day they leave the seat,a torrent of accusations will be hurled on them and they may get arrested and even executed.
By doing silly things like this both the GOP and people of Pakistan are encouraging the rulers to stay where they are and not ever leave the government or even if ever leave the government then leave a close relative or ally in the government..Thats why we see hereditary seats and Dynasties like Bhutto Dynasty ruling us.
But we are equally to blame as we are the ones who say nothing and keep shut while they are in government but as soon as they are out of government we go after them..whats the point? now this man is a layman and cant do nothing..
Same thing will happen with Zardari, and he knows this...NOw people are bearing whatever he is throwing at them and nobody speaks..loadshedding , astronomical food prices .. but when he leaves government, the whole country will want him behind bars....
Do we think that with attitude like this ..any ruler of Pakistan will ever want to leave government?
