we need to explore the export market and get the JF17 selling.

if this plane does good in market it will be very helpfull as we will generate funds for upgradation and even for a new version or a completely ne plane!

I don't really see why the JF-17 needs these supposed imporvements. Thrust vectoring might be a good option but it's not as simple as installing a vectoring nozzle. For vectored thrust a new engine would be needed and for an aircraft just entering service that would be too soon. What can be improved is perhaps the avionics or the weapons systems.

Thread looks useless....
So far we are not able to manufacture JF-17 Block II, then how can we move to new design twin engine blah blah!!!!

Let us get strong hands on JF-17 Block I, Let the engineers design it with western engine,radar,avionics and electronioc warfare for Block II.............
Then we can think abt JF-18 or other kind of twin engine

no need for going bigger.. we are not country like india with growing economy and big Defense budget.. So we can't chase them. We have our own limited resources and constraints..

The thing is, JF-17 is first full fledged fighter at which our engineers will make their hands strong. Let them work with JF-17 and get solid experience with manufacturing a fighter airplane.. This experience will help us alot in future.

With chinese help and with the help of our learned experience from JF-17 may be in coming 3 - 5 years we'll be able to start a new project or new upgraded block of JF-17, in which Pakistani Engineers will have more part in R & D and development of airplane and its different technical components..

There are SOME flaws in the Thunder which to most forum members is well known.

It lacks modern design ie total unstability and composite materials. It flight controls are still partialy hydraulic and it currently only carries chinease ordanance and radar/avionics.

PAF are comparing it to F16/52

For this level of punch they need to order far more J10s than Thunders.

Biggest problem is going to be 5 years from hence when The Thunder will have go toe to toe against hundreds of SU30MKI MMRCA & ISRAELI equipped LCA TEJAS..

I think if they ever wanted a new and improved version of it then it will be the version whose photo is in the section of JF-17s pics and it will have new wings with greater wing area with 9 hardpionts(1 under fuselarge) and 98-100KN engine and an integrated sensor suite so it will never carry an kind of pod and avionics being jointly developed with EU.
