What's new

New T-80UD pictures (And more including Al-zarar/Type-59/Infantry)

You're in luck! I found a picture in my files from 2006 Defence Day. That's another variant of the one i was talking about.

Ah! Yeah I wish we had something like those. But The recovery vehicles aren't too bad in their own league don't you think? lol.

Good looking tank
is it made in Pakistan?

Aren't you suppose to be some sort of a Tank enthusiast? Judging from your blog, I believe you wouldn't have asked that.

. .
why?
I know much about tanks but nothing about Pakistan armor

So you're unaware of the Ukranian variant of the Russian "T-80" which is known as "T-80UD", and you're claiming that you know "Much" about tanks?

Smoooooth.

Anyway, This is not a Pakistani tank. It's a Ukranian tank called "T-80UD". I'm sure the website that you've copied all the info from for your blog, SHOULD have an article on T-80UD as well.

As for a Pakistani tanks, you should start with MBT-2000 "Al-Khalid" and the Pakistani upgrade of the T-59 called "Al-Zarar". All the information is available on the Internet. Enjoy!

The T-80UD was purchased as a stop-gap measure (over the much more capable M-84). It has been now almost 16 years to the T-80UD with Pakistan. Unfortunately, the T-80UD has some serious problems including its unique type of oil, in-ability to accommodate any upgrades etc. Army is now more inclined towards getting HIT in motion to churn out the Al-Khalid (1&2) soon enough in order to fill up the ranks with more modern and updated tanks. Though still a little behind schedule, Army will now only prefer to induct a tank which is essentially made at HIT. They cannot afford to spend more funds on buying any tanks from the outside.
