New suicide blasts kill 12 in southern Russia

wow whats happening here people ? What will Russia do now ?

Perhaps do a proper investigation to trace and neutralize the perpetrators, instead of leveling the nearest Chechen village/town.

In case it isn't obvious, I do not see Russian tactics as something to brag about, though some here seem to think it represents some sort of a 'tough guy/don't mess with me' image.

There really isn't anything remotely 'tough' about killing non-combatants and combatants indiscriminately. And obviously the groups still attacking Russia gave up caring about Russian tactics a long time ago.

Oh dear.... they are really pissing off the Bear. Russia has just emerged from flattening Georgia in 3 days. With a decade old war on militancy of its own coupled with the Georgian war, these blasts just ensured more combat in the coming few days.

I won't be surprised if FSB and GRU agents have already been dispatched to the terrorist hotspots around mainland Asia and eastern Europe.

Sakashville is playing dirty games using Azerbaijjans shoulder. The culprit lie around these countries and plan makers could be in middle east, trying to create some confusion. But this is The Great Bear who we are talking about here. Let this BEAR stay in hybernation or it might just take a quick swipe at someone close overnight.

Sakashville could be assasinated really soon. I won't be surprised if he does get taken out by KGB.

Oh lol, but hey, if Al Qaeda dares to challenge and bring USA, an economic and military power on its knees in a few hours on September 11, then Russia should be nothing.

Actually no.. USA's soft underbelly is its paramount concern for its citizens' safety. That exactly what terrorists exploit. Russia however has a much higher tolerence for collateral damage on both sides. Thats why it will be significantly difficult for Al Queda to manage Russia

I can see FSB and GRU agents being effective in Eastern Europe hotspots, but without (1) Air support ala drones OR (2) Military cover through a significant military presence (Pakistan Army/FC in FATA) I do not see FSB/GRU units being able to accomplish much in places like North Waziristan, assuming that the Russian FM was not talking out of his rear end when he referred to the Afghan-Pakistan border regions.

They are at the end of the day soldiers, not supermen.

RIP.

Russia should realize the importance of Afghanistan and thread the area around it, poses as terrorist base to its people and sovereignty.

As its foreign minister is saying that the area between Afghanistan and Pakistan as possible source of the attacks.

India, Russia, Iran and Afghanistan should fight this battle for our people and peace in the region.

some indians never let go pakistan na, if some buddy blows ur arse, it should happen to be a pakistani

Al Qaeda got its payback with interest when USA attacked afghanistan. USA was just thinking about leaving afghanistan. Now the russians might come in.

Ask any veteran in the taliban how they felt about the soviets. Before USA supplied them with the weaponry required to take on the soviets, the Taliban would s**t their pants at the sound of hind helicopters. The hinds used to have a lot of fun putting basketball sized holes in taliban fighters.

Now if they decide to mess with Russia, those hinds would be back, and there won't be any stingers around. Instead it would be apache helicopters firing alongside the hinds. The Taliban will have one choice: whether to be killed by the russians or the americans.

R.I.P the dead. I guess same group is responsible for these bomb blasts as well.

Militant admits Russia tube attacks

A Chechen militant has claimed responsibility for the deadly tube bombings in Moscow as two new suicide bomb attacks targeting police officers in southern Russia left 12 people dead.

Doku Umarov, who leads Islamic militants in Chechnya and other regions in Russia's North Caucasus, said in a video posted on a pro-rebel website that Monday's twin suicide attacks were an act of revenge for the killing of civilians by Russian security forces.

He warned that attacks on Russian cities would continue.

Umarov's statement was posted after prime minister Vladimir Putin vowed to "drag out of the sewer" the terrorists who plotted the tube bombings which killed 39 people and injured scores of commuters during the rush hour.

Wednesday's suicide bombings in Dagestan, a volatile southern province east of Chechnya, could have been planned by the same group behind Moscow's bombings, Mr Putin said. "I don't rule out that this is one and the same gang."

The bombings in Moscow were the first suicide attacks in the Russian capital in six years and shocked a country that had grown accustomed to having such violence confined to its restive southern corner.

Umarov blamed ordinary Russians for turning a blind eye to the killing of civilians in the Caucasus by security forces and warned that more attacks on Russian cities were coming.

"I promise you that the war will come to your streets and you will feel it in your lives, feel it on your own skin," Umarov said in a video posted on kavkazcentre.com, a website affiliated with the rebels.

Officials at Russian law enforcement agencies refused to comment on Umarov's claim, but the Russian security chief has previously said that the tube bombings were carried out by militants from the Caucasus.

In the latest attacks, a suicide bomber in a car detonated explosives when police tried to stop the car in the town of Kizlyar, interior minister Rashid Nurgaliyev said. As investigators and residents gathered around the scene of the blast, a second bomber wearing a police uniform approached and set off explosives, killing the town's police chief, among others.

LOL really, just try out the Russian's once. India will always stand right next to our Russian brothers as they have stood with us in the toughest times.

Honestly, this has nothing to do with Indians, so just leave them out of this for goodness sake.

Are u sure it was alqaeda or cia inspired alqaeda stagemanaging the whole 9-11 show.If u believe that osama can pull off something like this on his own then I guess u know even less than an average guy in pakistan.

Dude, that's a conspiracy, and yes I believe the conspiracy type of the story, but for now, I am just currently talking about what the world believes 9/11 is.

And Look at my flag again, I am from Singapore, not Pakistan. And I have done my research way long ago before I even found PDF

Thankyou

it is not in dangerous in terms of al qaeda... but it has its own other internal problems... they are one of the finest and daring military in the world...:cheesy:

Can't agree more after seeing their performance in Georgia.

Actually no.. USA's soft underbelly is its paramount concern for its citizens' safety. That exactly what terrorists exploit. Russia however has a much higher tolerence for collateral damage on both sides. Thats why it will be significantly difficult for Al Queda to manage Russia

Look you two listen here, I am not denying the fact that Russia can cause a serious damage on Al Qaeda, I have never denied that, and I am very sure they can.

The fact, here is that, if they can attempt to attack USA, a very strong military power, then definitely, Russia won't be spared, and I am sure they have a lot of balls to mess with Russia.

Honestly, don't take my comments as an offence,I am not mocking Russia, neither will I mock any other countries.

Maybe you guys take my statement wrongly, I will edit my statement
