Uragan-1M advanced MRLS produced by NPO Splav may soon enter Russian service.

The difference between the new and the old modifications is the capability to employ interchangeable packages of 220mm ammunition.

Ammunition of the MRLS is stored in special box launchers that can be quickly reloaded.

Uragan-1M is a self-propelled multiple rocket launcher system designed in the Russia. The Uragan-1M is capable of launching 220 mm rockets and mounted on the rear of a MZKT 8×8 chassis.

The “Uragan” Multiple Rocket Launcher System (9K57) is designed to engage any type of group targets the susceptible elements of which are manpower sheltered or in the open, soft-skinned and armored materiel of the motorized infantry and tank companies, artillery, tactical missiles, SAM systems units, helicopters on landing sites, command posts, communications centers and military-industrial (defense) facilities.
